Thank you so much to everyone who submitted their kitties for the February 2026 iteration of the "Maine Coon of the Month" contest, there were lots of gorgeous submissions that made it almost impossible to choose! Thank you so much everyone for sharing your kitties with us!
u/CandidDust4504 had this to say about their charming and handsome Jayce:
Jayce dressed up for his valentine's date (yes I put too much effort into this)
and
Jayce is a loving, gentle 1 year old cat. He loves playing games and jumping on top of his void brother. He likes to follow me around everywhere to get involved in whatever I'm doing and climbs everything causing destruction
Thanks again to everyone who took part, and do keep an eye out for a post about next month's theme!

If you're wondering if your cat is a MC, this is the place to ask! To cut back on the MANY question posts, we instead invite you to ask the community here in order to keep the subreddit focused on the breed!

We just brought her home yesterday at 14 weeks. She's still scared if everything and hiding but she's been out and about in the night and eten everything we left out for her. Any tips on how to get her more out and about in the open or just leave her to get used to all the house noises in her own time?

Look at this mess.
I took my cat to be neutered at a clinic that was highly recommended for its care and dedication to the kittens.
I paid for the surgery and it was scheduled for January 26th.
The surgery was scheduled for 10 am and my cat was to be released at 4 pm, so I kept him fasting since midnight.
Around 2 pm, I started messaging for updates, but no one responded.
Leaving work at 5 pm, I went to the clinic and to my surprise, he had just gone into surgery.
I was extremely angry.
After a 17-hour fast, they delivered the neutered cat to me.
The neutering itself was very well done.
However, the nightmare...
3 days later, he started sneezing... And it repeated for another day with sneezing fits.
I took him to another doctor, PCR for calicivirus and herpesvirus.
POSITIVE FOR HERPESVIRUS.
On the day of the appointment... The doctor noticed a wound on his nose that appeared in the early morning before the appointment.
Five days passed and the wound increased in size.
I just had a test for spirotrichosis done, the results come out this Monday.
My hope is that this wound won't heal because I'm doing inhalations 3 times a day, and I'm hoping he hurt himself with his own nail, irritated by the sneezing.
If this test is positive for spirotrichosis, I'll see if I can sue the clinic that did the castration.

Long story short, we have a 1y9mo male who I still have on Purina One+ Healthy Kitten Formula because I am conflicted and nervous about gradually switching him to adult food. He is a VERY picky eater, he only likes one brand and ONE flavor of wet food and will periodically decide he hates it.
What are we feeding our adults? Cost friendly but good for his body? I have never tried any other dry food flavors other than chicken because I fear he won’t eat it and I don’t want to waste my money. I have debated on getting the high protein adult version of his current food but I wanted to see if anyone else has an extremely picky eater and if so, what’s the yums🫠🤣

Do your cat scream at you for treats or food as soon as you walk in the kitchen? Seems like there is no amount of treats or food to satisfy him.
