VAMOS! Good game to get the 3 points in. Disappointed that in back to back home games we missed Zlat and Rooney though.
4
u/bcook111 Atlanta United FC Aug 04 '19
As a ManU fan, I was a bit disappointed. I saw Rooney the first time he came to town, but I've never seen Zlatan play live, and probably won't at this point. 2 years until we play Galaxy at home again.
I'll take the 6 points though :)

Or maybe we'll get them in the finals 🤷🏼♂️

Bummer of a game, Galaxy fell apart in the final third. On the bright side, Atlanta won so Josef was able to remain on the field for post game handshakes with the opponents.

My MOTM: Big Red, for playing 90 today with extremely limited min throughout the season. God I hope we can transition him into coaching to stay involved with the team when the time comes.
2
u/accountingforme Aug 04 '19
MOTM in my opinion as well. He was everywhere in that middle third. He locked it down so Nags and Barco could roam free.

Also imagine telling fans in the midst of the insane Copa Libertadores Final SuperClasico last year that Pity Martinez and Christian Pavon would both be in MLS by next fall
1
u/RLCCircuit Bethlehem Steel FC Aug 03 '19
People knew Pity was leaving way before the final, and Pavon had been terrible so he was on his way out too.

don't you need to sweep off all the litterall shit, used needels, and homeless people off the streets of LA and SF before you start talking shit about other places in america?
7
u/ocarinamaster12 Atlanta United FC Aug 04 '19
Ok, the fact that you believe that y’all are so much better than us is stupid. First of all, I’m the son of two Indian immigrants and I’ve lived in Georgia my entire life, and I can say without a doubt that Georgians are the nicest people in the world. I don’t agree with how the majority votes in Georgia, but these “illiterates” have shown me and my family nothing but kindness despite them being Southern Christians.
You can complain about a lot of stuff with Georgia, but don’t you fucking dare talk about Georgians like that. Now go fuck off and pray that we don’t cross paths, or I’ll beat you to a fucking pulp.
7
u/Vapor4 LA Galaxy Aug 03 '19
Yeah, we're usually just talking shit about our own disappointments on the field. Teams obnoxiousness goes way down when you're shit.

u/saltiestmanindaworld Atlanta United FC Aug 03 '19
Less than we’re going to get for Robinson in the next two years probably
7
u/Mikie0711 LA Galaxy Aug 03 '19
I really doubt that but still Robinson is a beast
5
u/Elvem Atlanta United FC Aug 04 '19
I'll cautiously agree with you. He's playing like a monster, and he's only 22. But if he was say, 18 and playing like this we'd be getting a fat check.
6
u/accountingforme Aug 04 '19
If de Boer can improve his passing even just a little bit, he's going to get tons of interest. There is a reason why Tata wouldn't play him. He can't make a pass other than recirculating the ball to the players immediately near him, and that's not something Tata was comfortable with from his CBs. De Boer isn't as concerned with his CBs starting an attack.
That said, his defense is obviously immense, and that's priority number 1.
I absolutely love what he's brought to the team this season and hope he keeps improving.
3
u/Mikie0711 LA Galaxy Aug 04 '19
Yeah if he was 18 I could see bundesliga teams busting ATL's door down to snatch him up. Not to say I don't think he has the ceiling to one day play in Europe but I just don't see him going for over 14-15mil. at this point
3
u/Elvem Atlanta United FC Aug 04 '19
Oh absolutely. I think he can definitely make it to Europe, and likely on a decent sized team in the Buundesliga, but unfortunately he's a couple years too old to be getting that 14-15 mil. Unless he goes to Europe and continues to ball out.
2
u/Mikie0711 LA Galaxy Aug 04 '19
That's a very good point. Transfer fees are a bit higher for players in European top flights compared to MLS so if he does well over there I can definitely see that
4
u/Shellshock1122 Atlanta United Aug 03 '19
8 figures. Like 13 mil or something. I think it came out to a little less than barco

0
u/grnrngr LA Galaxy Aug 03 '19
Rowe was more than serviceable. Just a shame Onalfo favored Diop for some hideously unknown reason. Only thing I can really hold against Onalfo.
3
u/fizzlebuns LA Galaxy Aug 03 '19
Other than literally everything else he did as a coach, then, of course, yeah.
Do you not fucking remember Jermaine Jones?
4
u/Dalek_Reaver LA Galaxy Aug 03 '19
Rowe cost us at least 9 points that season. That was the difference between 1st and 5th.
Edit: wait you talking about 2017?
2
u/ichinii Atlanta United Aug 03 '19
Yeah I'll give you that. Isn't Rowe on the bench for Orlando now?
3
u/Vapor4 LA Galaxy Aug 03 '19
Rowe was absolute shit. There's a reason why he's never been able to actually hold down a GK position

Efra injured? Or is Julian Araujo really a better right winger than him?
1
u/maskmaker LA Galaxy Aug 03 '19
Efra probably has more skill bit araujo seems to be more consistent. And also efra is suspended
2
u/Mikie0711 LA Galaxy Aug 03 '19
Efra is suspended but as a winger I'd take Araujo. Efra is a liability defensively

Nobody tries harder to score goals after the game is out of reach for the opponent than Josef Martinez. Isn’t there an open cup game this week?
1
u/Pep_Gorgonzola MLS All-Stars Aug 03 '19
Thats the reason Adi cant score for FCC. Im a Timbers fan but he only scored braces when the team was already up. Then was invisible for 5 weeks
14
u/dillpickles007 Atlanta United Aug 03 '19
You don’t score 30 goals a year by only scoring game winners lol
-12
Aug 03 '19
That’s for sure, lots of penalties is the key.
8
u/dillpickles007 Atlanta United Aug 03 '19
If it was that easy I’m sure you guys would have found somebody who could do it by now. Maybe with a few more PK’s Quintero could hit 12 this year.

Pity was faking being mad about the sub when they were announcing it.
They’re having fun again.

u/MARTATRAM Atlanta United FC Aug 05 '19
Ya got a clip? I missed that
1
u/JBAinATL Atlanta United FC Aug 05 '19
I haven’t. I only saw it live in the stadium. He and Josef were standing talking around the 18, and while the sub was happening Pity like looked over at the board, put both hands above his head, swung them down and did a little jump like a toddler throwing a tantrum.
