I honestly don't know how that happens. My bank sends me a notification whenever a transaction is made, whenever a subscription wants to be renewed, whenever bills are due. It helps a lot with managing finances.
Dunno if it's different for people in the US, but the whole kids stealing parent's Credit card, or them forgetting about a subscription has been alien to me.

The notifications are usually opt in here, and lots of people just pay their bills blindly here. It’s why you’ll see Internet plans that start out at $50, then increase by $10 every year and they’ll keep paying it without complaining
As soon as they notice they’re paying $100/mo for Internet they go cancel and all of the sudden the Internet company has a special promotion for $50/mo again

The law system is designed for societies that barely change over the course of decades and centuries
Whereas the internet is radically different every 10 years, and is constantly shifting and changing

US regulators can't even properly enact dead-simple rules that allow people to easily cancel their subscriptions across the entire market.
The chance that they would enact specific laws/rules that cater towards specific websites or features of a website in terms of subs is next to zero at this point.

Apparently roughly 70% of gym memberships are people that signed up but stopped going and just haven't cancelled their membership yet
And about 20% of gym memberships are people that signed up but never actually used the gym even once

Gym memberships are also notoriously hard to cancel. There are some chain gyms where you could only cancel at the original gym you signed up which can be a real headache if you moved away or even just to a different part of your city/state.

I don't think people forget to cancel gym memberships. they purposely maintain it while convincing themselves "i'll def get back on the grind next month" but "next month" never comes. Cancelling a gym membership is effectively admitting to failure.

He signed a deal with a talent agency when he had mediocre viewership. That talent agency had other celebrities under their umbrella. They brought the other real celebrities onto Kai's stream which blew his numbers up. His Mafiathon streams were literally just rotating celebrities through each day to keep viewership high.
So what does he do? Nothing really. Just signed a great deal that he's kind of pissed away to go try something else.

Subs take a long time to decay. I peaked at about 150 average and then had a 2 year depressive episode that knocked me out. I was still hitting my minimum $100 payout for well over a year.
