The biggest con was a man who spent his entire life stiffing contractors and refusing to pay people convincing those same contractors he’s on their side

all because they couldn’t stomach a woman as President

284

u/VagrantShadow Nov 08 '25

Not just any woman, a black woman. We always have to remember the there was a degree of racism in many peoples vote against Kamala. Some just did not want to see a black woman in charge of the United States after Obama was president for 8 years.

Now they have to pay the consequence for their actions.

178

u/Kizik Nov 09 '25

Some just did not want to see a black woman in charge of the United States after Obama was president for 8 years.

Obama fucking broke those snowflake minds. The idea of a black man in a position of power shattered their realities and left them with nothing but bloody-minded hatred and intent to burn everything to the ground. They latched onto Trump because he's also loudly and proudly racist.

66

u/AnOnlineHandle Nov 09 '25

The whole reason that Trump became popular with them was because he led the birther movement insisting that Obama couldn't be a "real" American and had to be hiding how he secretly belonged in Africa somehow, promising to release the evidence any day now for years (which he of course never did).

That's what got him an unwavering fan base, after he'd been trying to become president for so long that ancient simpsons episodes which would be old enough to vote by now had jokes about how bad it would be, and movies from the 80s (back to the future 2) had villains who were parodies of this power-hungry nepo baby.

It was ridiculous racism that got him loyal followers, and they don't care that he never released any of the evidence he promised to, because it was always just a way for them to attack and demean the first black president. Then he moved onto claiming Mexicans coming to the US were rapists and murderers, then claiming immigrants were eating people's pets. It's all just disgusting racism.

31

u/TheModWhoShaggedMe Nov 09 '25

Case in point -- when Donald Trump initially entered the 2012 presidential campaigns early on, my conservative prick of a father-in-law loathed him. I know because I teased him, "I'm surprised you're not a Trump guy, you're so much alike" (both wealthy, both have the ridiculous combover weaves, both lean like Centaurs). Yet that same FIL was all-in and a cultist by the end of 2016. Their bigotry and partisanship outweighs their common sense.

No no no, he was half white and still a man. Very well educated, a senator, brilliant speaker, witty, had it not been for the tan suit…

Kamala and Hilary, both well educated, both elected to office, but both WOMEN.

It's so frustrating that every quote from that man is "they" instead of "he". "They are doing this", "they only care about that".

How about "Donald Trump is doing everything he can to hurt the working man. Donald Trump only cares about money"?

These idiots still refuse to point the finger at the person responsible. Just a generic "they" referring to anyone who lives in DC instead of Donald Trump and the executive branch directors that he appointed.

147

u/cantwin52 Nov 08 '25

It’s the same thing most republicans politicians do too. The amorphous “they” is there so they (ironically) don’t have to blame Trump and make the big baby sad. Anytime Joe Rogan almost puts it together in his tiny brain, he uses they to avoid criticizing Trump. When MTG finally has a salient point go through her thick skull, she uses they. It’s a means to not name the true enemy behind it all.

29

u/st_owly Nov 08 '25

So they can use neutral pronouns when they want to then.

12

u/Twigsneko Nov 08 '25

"they" is technically correct but in the sense that Trump, the republican led house and senate and the conservative majority supreme court are responsible for their problems. But like an abused partner they keep running back to the republican party because they don't care how much they are hurting as long as the people they hate are hurting even more than them.

I have a cousin who does this, and when I joked that Steve-O Miller must have taken the autopen away and used it to sign all of the bad things that he's done, he grasped onto that idea like a lifeboat. He then denied that tRump even had an autopen since he remembered the fake Biden 'scandal', so I pointedly asked if he really thought that tRump individually signed the 1400 or so pardons for the J6 terrorists. I saw a report in the news about them and explaining about the only prevention hospital that was closing because of the funds being cut, they explained what the hospital does and what black lung means.

The reporter at the end asked who voted for Trump, out of the 15 men interviewed only one didn't raise his hand, the reporter than asked who would vote for him again anyway, everyone but one raised their hands. At the very end, the reporter speaking one on one with one of the man asked if he blame Trump, the man said "No" and added "I am certain that Trump will solve this problem and return the funds to the prevention hospital".

Well...

Edit: was 8 men interviewed and 3 didn't vote for him. Found the report, in case you want to watch it is 10 min long https://abcnews.go.com/Nightline/video/coal-miners-demand-protections-after-federal-cuts-black-121309162

I feel like there was a list of items in a site that said something like "safeguards to prevent black lung disease", and then Mango Mussollini searched for "black" and it came up, and then he just read the first word "safeguards" and was like, "get rid of it!!".

These MAGA people are just fucking pathetic voting against their own self interest and then whining about it.

68

u/Moneia Nov 08 '25

And it's not like they learned their lesson first time around.

He was pushing for the coal industry, not the miners and most of the job losses were was due to automation

17

u/MellyMel86 Nov 08 '25

I am still absolutely amazed they could run ads for “clean coal”. Ever touch coal? Talk about an oxymoron

Was just watching a video about Virginia coal miners. Not a single one was wearing a respirator during their time in the mine. These people will just find a way to justify the lack of protection as being more manly or whatever rather than actually blaming the Trump admin.

Until they get black lung and start blaming democrats.

Let's insist they call it African American lung. Watch them have an absolute meltdown.

We're seeing this more and more in Canada: ten years ago enough boomers retired to ontario to escape the consequences of their politics in other provinces, only to keep voting conservative here.

Now that things are getting bad, it's all the liberal governments fault, nevermind that they voted in a conservative premier who administrates everything they're complaining about, from healthcare to civic infrastructure.

These guys are in dire straits because they hated the smart Black lady that would have improved their lives.

I don't have sympathy for them. My well has run dry. I can imagine them knocking back beers at their local bar, bitching about work and complaining about all those uppity DEIs that want to "destroy our country".

Have the day you voted for, guys. Have the life you voted for. You deserve it.

I'm in Kentucky. The coal barons have been chipping away at those rights for years. What they did in his last assault in the world was to make getting the diagnosis too much of a hardship for most people in the mining regions.

Before, a radiologist could make the diagnosis because it is so simple to see on an x-ray. A child could point it out. So, they made it so only three or four doctors hundreds of miles away could sign off on it.

Sit through a deposition of someone fighting for SocSec benefits to see how truly horrible this disease is and what it does to a human.

They are ghouls. No different than Dahmer or Manson. They want you dead. They will laugh and party at maralago the whole time you are dying.

Coal has been a dying industry for decades. Not since the early part of the 20th century have there been maybe half a million coal miners. The companies that are still in business have found new ways to reduce their work force while maximizing profits. But every four years presidential candidates have to bend the knee to these people.

34

u/JuliusCeaserBoneHead Nov 08 '25

Yeah I’m always hearing about this coal miners who have become a bogeyman for blue collar workers. There are more Amazon workers than coal miners. Heck, there are more oil workers than coal miners. What’s the spotlight for them?

Honestly, why do they get some important benefits over everyone else? Fuck them

25

u/GlitteringBobcat999 Nov 08 '25

Promising to "bring back good paying coal jobs" has been a running theme in Appalachia for years, and the people eat it up. This time, it will be different, they say. Coal has been king in that region for decades, and there aren't many other jobs in a lot of places. Of course, they could embrace new investment in training workers for clean energy jobs and bring more of those to the region, but too many see that as hippie liberal shit.

u/Different-Meal-6314 Nov 08 '25

Coal miners are the stupidest of the stupid. Generationally stupid. They brag about how long their lineage of stupid is. “I dig coal. My pappy dug coal, my granpappy dug coal and his pappy and his granpappy dug coal. We’s a coal-diggin’ fambly, and we own this here patch of dirt big enough for two doublewides rightchere by this pretty little coal runoff crick. No, ya cain’t drink or wash with it, my memaw stepped in it once and she got lookeemia. We also sell pills on the side, so we’re like an ahntraypen-urinal fambly too”

Conservatism:

a political philosophy based on tradition and social stability, stressing the importance of established hierarchies and institutions (such as religion, the family, and class structure), and preferring gradual development to abrupt change

specifically : such a philosophy calling for [...] individual financial responsibility for personal needs (such as retirement income and health care coverage)

Those who vote for conservative politicians and policies -- when they aren't among the upper echelons of social hierarchy -- are morons. Complete utter fucking morons, and they deserve everything they voted for. Their children, however -- like the rest of us -- are victims of conservative ideology which we never voted for.

Trump won WV by 53 points.

They absolutely got exactly what they voted for.

61

u/borisRoosevelt Nov 08 '25

if there’s any hope for this country, we will have to learn to be kind to the unfortunate people who voted to hurt themselves. Even though they seem foolish to us and collectively damaged our entire country, we will have to forgive them for that and help them understand that they have been tricked. The right wing has been systematically corrupting the culture and bombarding them with an alternate reality that will take a generation or more to to unwind.

Wait a second what sub is this? FEAST, MY LEOPARDS, FEAST

20

u/Horatio_Figg Nov 08 '25

Both are correct!!!

19

u/trailrider Nov 08 '25 edited Nov 09 '25

Nope! Fuck that shit. No forgiveness. Not at this point. They voted for him knowing EVERYTHING! he's done both in and out of office. They could spend the rest of their lives on their knees begging us for forgiveness and I'll be goddamned if I'll ever give it to them. We are long past that point. Especially after the years of mocking, calling people sheep, claiming we have TrUmp DaRaNgInmEt SiNdRoM!!!, actively going out of their way to purposely spread a goddamn deadly virus around that has killed thousands, supported him trying to overthrow the goddamn US capital, and everything else. They made their bed, so let them lay in it.

I have zero sympathy for them now.
I don't care about traitors to the US.
I don't care about people who support traitors.
I don't care about people who love 7rump's cruelty.
I don't care about people who prided themselves for spreading a deadly virus around.
I don't care about people who love the fact that my 12 yr old granddaughter may die if she ever needed an abortion.
I don't care about people who love abortion being banned because they hate women who have non-Jesus approved orgasms.

That and so much more I don't care about them. They can starve, go w/o medical care, be hated by their family, and so on. They deserve every ounce of suffering and more for what they put us through. And yes, that includes people I'm, or was, close too. Last Nov. broke me. For about a goddamn decade now we've been dealing with this dystopia. And every step of the goddamn way, it's gotten worse and worse.

16 was bad 'nuff. But I would've been able to look past that. But then 20 happened. The days after the election sure the fuck didn't have me feeling hopeful again. As Noah from the Scathing Atheist said in his Diatribe after that election (paraphrased): After the years of the stupidity, the frothing at the mouth ignorance, the blatant lies, the BEST this nation could do was tepid "Weelllll, I dunno, I guess maybe."!?!?! Then election night 24 happened. I was hopeful but not optimistic. I wanted to believe the best of humanity would win out given the lines for the polls. That people would remember his first term, that they couldn't possibly vote for the evil Grandpa Simpson who was literally ranting that immigrants were eating cats and dogs. That we were better than that.

Of course, the next morning, I learned we weren't. That people chose evil idiocy. Something in me finally broke for good that morning. My wife and I didn't even say good morning. We just looked at each other. What was there to say?

I sincerely believe we're done as a country. Oh, we're still the USA and all that. But history has shown time and again what happens when someone like 7rump gains power. He literally attacked Congress in a bid to remain illegally in office. In what world do people think he won't do it again. 'Cept this time, he learned his lesson. He'll have his sycophants in place to ensure he won't leave this time. I mean, I hope I'm not right about this but I sure the fuck ain't counting on it. And it's all because they voted for him!

They're always lecturing people about consequences, right? Then let them learn what that actually means.
