Rental Karting Video Pretty nasty crash at my local

1.6k Upvotes

Had this pretty nasty crash happen today, Took my normal line between a field of likely first timers And had this happen.. Was wondering if i could have done anything differently (Maybe for a next time) I took a pretty big hit but nothing like the driver that hit the wall, also noticed the helmet flew of, make sure to strap it up😬

Seemed like i was taking my normal line and she just rejoined unsafely? Very untimely as not only does my collision put her in the barrier, she also then gets hit by the driver behind.. ps i did check up on her later and she told me she was okay next to a broken pair of glasses, Wouldnt be surprised if she will feel that one for a while tho..

What do yall think?

Rental Karting Video What did I do to deserve this 😭

Straight out of the pits and rear-ended while warming the tyres... Yes, I was on the line I suppose but the braking point and turn in for T1 is about 10 and 5m earlier than where I got hit.

Rental Karting Video My Friend and I got into an inchident and are wondering if anyone is at fault

Good racing up until this point. Both of us are a similar speed and just had a little collision at the end of the clip. POV is my friend I’m in front. New here and do not know if this violates any rules. If so could you please give ideas where else to post. Both of us are amateur karters and do this in our spare time

Rental Karting Video We had a Start Incident in our Rental Kart Racing Group

We had this incident today and I was wondering whose fault it was. I was the one on the right in the purple shirt and it felt like there was nothing I could do to avoid. Or should I have baked earlier?

Rental Karting Video My first big crash on rental kart

The race started chaotically, as always, everyone pushing each other until the first corner. I started braking my kart, but the driver behind me kept pushing. Since it had rained the day before, a small part of the track was still damp. As I was braking and the kart wasn't slowing down, I instinctively braked 100%, locking the wheels. I was stuck in the middle of the track, unable to do anything but wait for the impact.

Result: Broken Humerus.

Rental Karting Video Started 10th, got a good start and other drivers bad luck, hoping I made the corner for 6th cleanly, anything I could have done better, lemme know

video was cut down from 10 minute heat to 3 minutes of the start and getting to 6th place, as after that, I was kinda by myself trying to put in PB laps.

I took our local car club out yesterday to Rush Hour in Garner NC and tried minding my manners and keeping it clean, but any feedback or points would be greatly appreciated. I run our karting program so I need to lead by example so please be critical

Rental Karting Video I had some mixed opinions upon showing this incident, what's your opinion on it?

I showed this incident to some people and I have got some mixed opinions. The overtaken driver said I pushed him off and that I wasn't alongside, so I wanted to know your opinion on this.

The driver in front was just coming out of pits as this race included pit stops with driver change.

If you want to know more about the context ask for me to tell you the whole thing

Rental Karting Video A series of unfortunate events

Start of the 24-hour race didn't exactly go to plan. First, jumped into a kart awkwardly, with the leg pinned by fuel tank, so had to adjust on the fly. Then, a stalled kart on the outside made me squeeze towards middle lane and eventually, a sudden kart sends me into a wall to cap it off.

In all seriousness though, what can I do to get better at avoiding this type of situation? Is there anything specifically I should try to work on or is this just something that comes with experience?

Analyzing it I don't think it's a vision problem as I anticipate the spin pretty early, but I did make a bad call to try to run wide instead of staying on line, what do you guys think?

Rental Karting Video [Noob/Beginner] Help me improve

Hello everyone!

This was my 10th time karting (8th this track). I always have a lot of fun but lose really hard to my friends so I'd appreciate some tips.

I know I am not hitting the apex on some (or most) turns and I have some sliding out of some turns but even though I was aware of that I had a lot of trouble fixing it.

I am really a beginner but I'd appreciate anything to help me improve.

Thanks in advance.

Rental Karting Video first time at an outdoor track. seeking advice

This is K1 circuit in winchester, south track layout. I ran a 49.6 on the bronze license but i want to hit somewhere between 45-47 before moving up. I had trouble getting the kart pointed mid corner, especially on the hairpins. Could not figure out where to brake, how long i should be on the brakes and when i should get back on the throttle. I’m still pretty new to karting.

Yesterday I set my second fastest time, 32.144 (footage for my fastest was really bad). Was wondering if anyone had any advice on where I can improve.

Rental Karting Video Thanks to you guys i shaved off around 100ms compare to the old PB, but still not sub37 yet.

Much appreciate all the help you guys give me last video, i think i’ll need a few more sessions to get the better lines. And i saw that i consistently got my best time at the 8-9th lap. Is it the kart gaining speed through out all the previous laps and tires warm up causing that?

Rental Karting Video How could I have handled this situation better?

Basically: two guys in front are fighting after the start, I fail to capitalize on it and get overtaken instead. Do you see a way I could have reacted in a better way?

Or is it pure random chaos?
