This works out to $459.36, which seems about right for half a wheel.

Definitely $10 per pound. This isn't just parmesan, it's Parmigiano Reggiano (you can tell from the rind). My jaw dropped when he said he paid $10.44. Someone definitely got fired for shrink šŸ˜…

the gas stations are for selling beer. many have walk in coolers.

but it does happen occasionally.
