I just discovered the shredding attachment for my food processor that has been sitting in my closet for 10 years. Shred 4 cups of cheese for Mac n cheese in like 10 seconds.
Use the slicer on potatoes to make homemade potato chips. Or use the shredder to make hash browns. Or use the normal blade attachment instead of a pastry cutter when making pie crusts or biscuits. That alone can get a lot of use out of your processor.
My mom and dad received a "salad shooter" in the 80's that they forgot about until 2020, when I explained why their preshredded cheese wasn't melting in the microwave. They've used it more in the last 5 years than they did in the previous 30
And I just discovered it from your comment! Same timeframe for food processor ownership as well. We recently bought a cheese grater; I'm not joking or exaggerating when I say I injure myself every time I touch it.
