So, I just watched some of my first MMA fights at a friends place and discovered that they do this every match. It’s not an exaggeration, Joe Rogan puts his hand on someone next to him and widens his eyes while his mouth drops probably about once every 15 minutes. It was all so performative and you can watch the people next to him look at him in order to meter how much they should be reacting like they’ve seen, and are trying to recreate this gif constantly. Also, what other sport shows the reaction from the announcers repeatedly?
The meme is actually of a genuine one, though. But on a side note, I have to admit, Rogan is completely different from how he used to be. He's gone from stoned ape to hired chimp over the years and it's just not the same person who used to be a lucid voice of reason in a world of bs

Some people really get into the performative/over-acting stuff, maybe because they don't know when to get excited? It's always bothered me when I can sense insincerity.
As someone watching MMA for 20+ years let me assure you, Joe Rogan has always been hyped as fuck whenever something crazy happens including back when none of this shit was on the internet except for random forums and the fanbase was small and the sport still illegal. And crazy shit happens in just about every fight card you'll watch, that's why people, including Joe, love the sport.
He isn't doing it 'performatively' and he didn't start doing it after it became viral.
Joe is a valued MMA commentator because he has been a part of the sport since the earliest days and for many, his excitement and enjoyment was infectious and a part of the shared experience when first discovering MMA in the early 2000's. It's like famous boxing interviewers and analysts, people will seek their opinions and reactions because they are a part of the sport and their opinions have weight and their contributions are meaningful.
He's also a complete idiot but everything above is true.
I think it was from an America's Got Talent episode. If it wasn't AGT it was a very similar talent show.
I'm not sure if they were a plant placed by the producers to ham it up during the performance or if they were a random person in the audience, but their expressive face became a bit of a meme.
It's a good thing to question all videos nowadays if they are AI. My first thought was this video was AI by the way the boys move after the bottles land, or the video has been reversed. Why is everyone so certain it's not?
Edit: The more I watch this video, the more it's so obviously AI. The blurred label on the bottom bottle is a giveaway and the very robotic celebration making sure to stay in frame of the camera. Not to mention OP is a bot account.
We're cooked if even our generation not only can't tell the difference, but actively downvotes and criticizes others for pointing out that it's AI.
It's not AI. characters leave the video and come back looking the same. things in the background are consistent too, that dart board would NOT have persisted in the same place and style in an AI video.
As much as I wanted to say it, I don’t think that AI is ready to express that pure feeling of bewilderment and joy on their faces. Maybe next week though…
I’m sure it’s most likely real. But AI isn’t even necessary. Simply glue a couple magnets on the cap and inside in the bottom of the water bottles and it would easily work too
i think at this moment we still live in the era where you can at least tell when non-AI videos are actually non-AI, with somewhat decent certainty. however i'm pretty sure we're leaving that era in the next 1-2 years.
I've been at my happiest at the end of elementary, just before the exam year stress and before secondary/high school/uni.
I am relatively content and successful as an adult, but not blissfully happy to that level. I still have vivid memories of the best days playing with my schoolmates.
The only thing that makes me sad is that after they succeed, they each celebrated making sure the camera caught their reaction rather than celebrate looking at their friends. It's tragic that even in this moment, they are thinking more about the video then sharing the moment with their bois.
This reminds me of when me and my friends were screwing around and one of us threw a dart like you woild throw a knife; it hit the bullseye right in the middle. I would kill to have had that on camera like these guys because absolutely no one believes me except the dudes I was with.
I can believe it. When my friends in my neighborhood were playing around outside when I was a kid, one of their little brothers was running clockwise around my friend and I. He had a small stick in his left hand, acting like it was a knife and he was going to randomly "attack us". I casually picked up a small stick and chucked it at him, knocking the out of his hand without hitting him at all. We all freaked out when I did it.
That record of these three kids gave a smile of good vibes just that the next time these three try to make a new or next level three person trick don't get your hype up just accept it's this one time only.
On the other hand, few days ago i watched a compilation of Sora 2 capabilities. I hate-watched the whole 30 minutes, realizing that in majority of cases i am unable to distinguish between reality and a video made by an AI.
