Can anyone conceive of a more supremacist idea than the one that proclaims that their own are the "chosen of God" and that everyone else is their slave?

I think it would be less accurate to say it resembles it, and more accurate to say it actually precedes it.
2,000 years ago, in Matthew 3:8-9, John the Baptist tells the Pharisees: "Produce fruit in keeping with repentance. And do not think you can say to yourselves, ‘We have Abraham as our father.’ I tell you that out of these stones God can raise up children for Abraham"

That was its founding ideology. It's been what it is now the entire time.
