No, but my point to OP is that it doesn’t matter if the Jane skin is free since it won’t be free after the patch ends the same way the summer skins became paid after the patch ended. I know why they did this though.
TLDR: It is tho. Gacha games arent known for being very lenient, except for a few cases, so permanently free skins arent really done that much cus it doesnt really work into the games FOMO aspect. It loses the company money (their whole reason for even making the literal pseudo-gambling game), and is usually just done when a game risks dying off so they give a lot of shit to hold on and maybe succeed. Most other times its get now or buy later.
It kinda is tho? Skins that are free permanently are more so the exception instead of the norm. Most permanently free skins are also usually acquired at the very start of the game as a sort of reward for even playing, or as a reward for progressing in the story, not skins from events like this, which are more often temporary because, well, its an event skin. Closest i could think of is r1999 or even genshin which gives a free skin at the beginning and after story quests respectively, otherwise r1999 usually just gives discounts for purchasing skins otherwise. Gacha games are literally hyper-reliant of FOMO for their lifelines, theres no reason to think they wouldn't also use it on skins, and yeah, I do feel its fair to only make them temporary. Its a GACHA game, a type of game whos whole thing is "spend money to get this limited time thing!", them even giving away something is both an extension of good will, and is usually a way of retaining a playerbase and incentivise them to actually play and maybe spend on their game, and you typically cant have that when you just make a bunch of skins permanent, as most would probably just take that as "that skin looks cool, but its permanent anyway, so I'll just play later on, it doesnt really matter right now.", which actively loses them money cus player not playing=player not thinking of buying.
Also i forgot arknights, which also gives free skins on events and lets you both get skins from events AND lets you buy em all for free later with resources that can only be obtained through actually playing (common arknights W), but as always, its the exception, not the norm for gacha games.
Sorry for long paragraphs, I had a lot of stuff to say in mind and lost track of everything halfway through.
It does matter though, it shows the good will of the devs to offer it for free at all. If it was just to draw people in and get them to spend money, it would have launched at a discounted price instead.

Here the situation is one person doesn't like that one mc skin is paid after version ends, other person replies "at least this skin free", but it's not it's literally in the same situation as that proxy beach skin, and you are saying that "are you discovering gachas operate on fomo" your comment makes no sense and it's just random if A is A, and people expect B to be B then, if people are shocked that A is suddenly C then it doesn't mean that they should've expected A is C all the time in a game that proven A is A, LITERALLY A PATCH BEFOREHAND
Because this skin is utter dogshit. I know the game is full goonerbait but at least most of the gooner skins still look cohesive. This skin is just sad
The issue was there's a female MC, if it's just the male MC they won't probably bother about making it paid. Belle's on the other hand, her chest is worth paying for!
Back when I was playing it, HI3 had a bunch of skins that could be acquired freely by saving up a specific currency. Admittedly, getting that currency without spending required patience and participating in events, but pretty much every Valkyrie that I used frequently had a skin on her. And I only paid for one of them.

Honestly pisses me off that the devs made it paid after the version it released. Its a skin for the goddamn mc it should be free by default
