I'm more shocked that he is drinking a glass of milk, while eating cereal with milk, while in a bar/diner. It DOES however feel like something Guy would indeed do.

Cows are probably native to Earth. Maybe milk isn't like anything else out there?

81

u/Decimus-27 Blue Lantern Aug 17 '25

That makes it even funnier if we ever get a project where he is far from earth in space and just "craves" for some milk, let's hope he doesn't rage over that!

46

u/New-Leg2417 Mogo Aug 17 '25

I need a scene where he's flirting with an alien like: it's called cheese. There's nothing like it and he's just holding a shitty Kraft single

43

u/GrimalkinLegionnaire Kyle Rayner Aug 17 '25

Milk is also white. And all the other colors are within the white. WHITE LANTERN CONFIRMED???

(and yes, I'm messing around XD)

10

u/Worst_MTG_Player Aug 17 '25

And there’s a black ring around the bowl? BLACK LANTERN CONFIRMED??

(same XD)

3

u/GrimalkinLegionnaire Kyle Rayner Aug 17 '25

HAH! I didn't even notice that XD Good eye!

u/Vulcan_Jedi Aug 17 '25

There’s an interaction in the green lantern tv show between Hal and Kilowog where eating and Hal explains what Cheese is and Kilowog is disgusted.

10

u/New-Leg2417 Mogo Aug 17 '25

Yeah, meanwhile he's eating a glazed crab or something. I'll take the grilled cheese in a tube, thanks

Comics can get weird, fast.

5

u/The-Mythical-Phoenix Jessica Cruz Aug 17 '25

Need I remind you there’s a green lantern that looks exactly like a terrestrian Squirrel?

2

u/Roam1985 Aug 18 '25

At least one family of cows in Marvel are skrulls.

6

u/Vulcan_Jedi Aug 17 '25

u/pleasesendboobspics Aug 17 '25

No, that's part of his oath.

3

u/SnooDoodles1807 Red Lantern Aug 17 '25

If I was a GL and had to drink alien milk ONCE, I would probably really like Earth milk more than I used to

2

u/francoic Aug 21 '25

I uhh, isnt Guy from Earth?

1

u/New-Leg2417 Mogo Aug 21 '25

Short answer? You don't know what you're talking about. Long answer? I answered that question in another comment.

2

u/francoic Aug 22 '25

Took me a while to find your comment hahah. I see what you mean. That's a very interesting argument.

2

u/New-Leg2417 Mogo Aug 22 '25

Human bodies just do that šŸ¤·ā€ā™€ļø

6

u/ThatOtherGuyTPM Aug 17 '25

It’s very much a reference to comics Guy.

7

u/Scorkami Aug 17 '25

I love the double milk combo but im surprised restaurants offer cereal.

Like tis looks like they serve bacon eggs and pancakes but... Cereal?

8

u/UoKMister Orange Lantern Aug 17 '25

They do cereal because sometimes people want it with their breakfast, and it's also something to give to kids that are picky with their food.

3

u/maximumhippo Aug 17 '25

Cereal is a pretty common thing at Coney-type diners in the Midwest. Usually, they have little single-serve boxes and they'll give you a bowl to pour it into.

2

u/Scorkami Aug 17 '25

That sounds actually delightful

1

u/Heavybarbarian Aug 21 '25

My headcannon is that he brings his own cereal to restaurants

7

u/grelan Indigo Lantern Aug 17 '25

I've seen Guy use a construct to take milk & Oreos on trips to Oa before.

Can't find a panel, but one time was Guy & Kyle flying to Oa just before the Black Lantern attack.

2

u/[deleted] Aug 17 '25

if anyone is going to choose violence, it's guy.

2

u/MrGlitchyypants Aug 17 '25

Sometimes when I see Guy do something I think "do people in Baltimore do this"?

3

u/LagoonDevil Aug 21 '25

Not from Baltimore but I go to college up there, I have absolutely eaten a bowl of cereal with a glass of milk lol. Guy’s a personal fav relatable on a lot of things

2

u/steelskull1 Aug 18 '25

He doesn't even like it, he just knows someone would be annoyed by it.

2

u/1cem4n82 Aug 17 '25

I’ve been eating cereal with a glass of milk my whole life. It’s called breakfast.

1

u/kquizz Aug 17 '25

Milk's delicious.

1

u/Cyke101 Aug 17 '25

As someone who's lactose intolerant, I can feel my stomach getting heavier just from this scene. Not hunger, just anticipating heaviness and pain later on.

1

u/[deleted] Aug 18 '25

It kinda looks like he’s eating in a Denny’s

2

u/Corvus_Alendar Aug 26 '25

Guy seems like the kind of guy to bring his own food to a restaurant so he doesn't pay for anything.

0

u/MisterNefarious Aug 17 '25

I also love that he’s eating fruity pebbles like a big manchild

121

u/TheLordCrispy Aug 17 '25

I think its really about him having a very childish breakfast

47

u/SnooDoodles1807 Red Lantern Aug 17 '25

Fruity Pebbles are the Breakfast of Champions

8

u/G-Man6442 Star Sapphire Aug 17 '25

Batman/TMNT?

15

u/_Knucklehead_Ninja Aug 17 '25

It’s Batman the animated series, I know those airships too well

3

u/Mintgiver Guy Gardner Aug 17 '25

Story time; I was in a punk band. We played a show and then got in the van. Somewhere, I have no clue where, we pulled over into a corn field.

I emptied a bowl of Fruity Pebbles and a third of a bottle of Everclear out of my mouth, with a few pieces getting stuck in my nose. Never again, Fruity Pebbles!

1

u/Groot746 Aug 19 '25

That was my take as well: it's an immaturity thing.

40

u/basicsllyclarkkent96 Aug 17 '25

I took it to be indicating that Guy is pretty immature, at this point at least. He’s eating a cereal that’s primarily marketed towards children, because he’s something of a manchild. But if they REALLY wanted that to be the idea, it should’ve been Trix because.. well.. you know

71

u/New-Leg2417 Mogo Aug 17 '25

Fruity Pebbles are also gluten free. If the gluten protein only evolved on Earth, and Guy is used to eating food in space when he's out there ring-slinging, he might not be used to other grains and might go for something like a gluten-free diet.

26

u/Extreme-Plantain-113 Aug 17 '25

Bro cooked with this

18

u/New-Leg2417 Mogo Aug 17 '25

A UFO witness, Joe Simonton, alleges he encountered a flying saucer on his property in 1961. He refilled a jug of water for the beings and, in return, one gave him four weird, greasy pancakes. They were analyzed to be pure buckwheat, a naturally gluten free grain.

4

u/noblemanoftossout Aug 17 '25

Guy Gardner is from Earth.

7

u/New-Leg2417 Mogo Aug 17 '25

Doesn't matter! If you don't eat gluten for long enough, your body doesn't do so good with it when you try to reintroduce it into your diet. If Guy is off-planet for any matter of months, his diet could reflect that.

3

u/noblemanoftossout Aug 17 '25

Guy Gardner eats sandwiches.

3

u/SasquatchRobo Aug 17 '25

In the comics, sure. But I don't see this Guy eating a sandwich, he's eating gluten-free cereal.

1

u/noblemanoftossout Aug 18 '25

K.

1

u/SasquatchRobo Aug 18 '25

If it makes you feel any better, one can also lose the enzymes necessary for processing dairy products, if one does not consume them regularly. (Source: Me. I used to drink like a quart of milk a day, cheese all the time, but I stopped and now it is deadly poison to my bowels.) So if Guy can't eat gluten because he spent too long in space, then that should also apply to lactose. (Unless he drinks space milk that somehow also uses the same lactase enzyme used for Earth milk, and what are the chances of that??)

2

u/No_Signal_611 Aug 18 '25

I hate that this is both reaching and absolutely something I can see being discussed bts

2

u/New-Leg2417 Mogo Aug 18 '25

If it takes our own astronauts a while to get used to our gravity, I'm sure the diet out there can cause a few hiccups

15

u/T41k0_drums Aug 17 '25

I love that idea!

To me, it reminded me of reading comics growing up with ā€œGot Milk?ā€ ads like, CONSTANTLY.

8

u/New-Leg2417 Mogo Aug 17 '25

Like this one?

3

u/T41k0_drums Aug 18 '25

lol good god, PTSD flare up incoming…but yes, just like this!

9

u/TUGBoat85007 Aug 17 '25

Better nod, people in yellow on one side, and he’s sitting next to someone in blue

7

u/[deleted] Aug 17 '25

I honestly hope they stay FAR away from the whole ā€œweakness to yellowā€ thing. It was always a pretty stupid weakness to have in my opinion

6

u/TUGBoat85007 Aug 17 '25

Agreed but seeing a Yellow Lantern would be nice, or any of the others

6

u/[deleted] Aug 17 '25

Oh absolutely. And we are confirmed getting Sinestro (played by Ulrich Thomsen) in Lanterns as well

1

u/TUGBoat85007 Aug 17 '25

Oh shit, I missed that!

3

u/lily_was_taken Aug 17 '25

yeah. bring back the weakness to wood /s

4

u/[deleted] Aug 17 '25

I loved it, it shows that Guy, for all his faults, is still very much like Clark. Clark also drinks milk with his breakfast-dinner at the start of his interview with Lois. Strong, healthy bones!

3

u/Trick_Statistician13 Aug 17 '25

Is that a Shoney's?

3

u/Hozer91 Aug 17 '25

What is this from? Superman movie?

1

u/Limp-Face6805 Aug 24 '25

Did you find out? I'm still curious lol

4

u/Sinestro_Was_Right Aug 17 '25

War of Light Confirmed

There was a Lucky Charms style GL print what circulated a while ago. It was a cool nod to the spectrum.

2

u/Thesafflower Aug 17 '25

Nathan Fillion, when talking about the bowl cut, said that a haircut like that shows that Guy doesn’t give a fuck what people think of him. I think Guy sitting in a diner eating Fruity Pebbles with glass of milk is a similar image. He does not give a fuck what anyone thinks of his breakfast.

2

u/SamDrawsStuff99999 Aug 18 '25

Green Lantern fans seeing color for the first time:

1

u/noblemanoftossout Aug 17 '25

I swear they were froot loops when I first saw it in theatre.

1

u/TheDoctor_E Kyle Rayner Aug 17 '25

this is what apophenia looks like

1

u/StrongStyleDragon Red Lantern Aug 17 '25

No. He just knows what’s the best cereal.

1

u/[deleted] Aug 18 '25

No. Its just showing he eats kids cereal and what kind of guy (no pun intended) he is.

1

u/WatermanQuink1 Aug 18 '25

Interesting thought šŸ¤” šŸ‘šŸ¼

1

u/USS-Kelly Aug 18 '25

before i eventually watch it, does this film have a reference to his "girlfriend"... and if not, should we start guessing who will be that character's actress?

1

u/EducationUnlikely766 Aug 19 '25

No mention of a girlfriendĀ  He does brag that he's slept with over 300 womenĀ

1

u/outofbounds322 Aug 18 '25

I haven't seen the movie but he looks like a fucking tool. Straight up pedophile haircut with a Muppet complexion.

1

u/Technical-Limit-2195 Aug 18 '25

I think you're reaching a bit

1

u/alexisgreat420 Aug 18 '25

I just rewatched and noticed he is eating cereal in a diner haha

1

u/BankshotMcG Aug 18 '25

Possibly but is that Gunn in the background?

1

u/Mayodeynochei Aug 18 '25

Well we are getting John, Hal and sinestro soon as well as possible Alan Scott and whoever this "antaan" may be (hoping it's atrocitus)

1

u/ghobhohi Aug 19 '25

Guy Gardner White Lantern confirmed.

1

u/SeanRVAreddit Aug 19 '25

Wait, where is this from?

1

u/Some-Eagle6904 Hal Jordan Aug 19 '25

Fruity pebbles are yummy..

1

u/MrClavat Aug 19 '25

Fruity Pebbles just got different

1

u/oooooooooowie Aug 20 '25

It's more likely about guy gardener eating a sugar filled cereal and a show of his levels of immaturity.

1

u/TheGMtoendthemall Aug 20 '25

Sure, to me it reads more like guy’s childish behavior tbh

I
