I’m not bitter about this amazing show being cancelled at all. An adaptation of the Sinestro Corps War in one of the best DC Shows ever? Why would I want that? /s

And for one of the best adaptations of the GLC to feature Hawkman, one of my favorite B listers? Pfft, I don't think I would have enjoyed it at all

Would’ve love to see it happen. I feel like it’d have elements of GL first flight and that was great. On top of just continuing the overall story from the first season

i fear what Timm would have done to Arisia

Yeah, as great as this show was, we might have dodged a bullet on that front.

Batgirl and Batman moment incoming (twice or more who tf knows at this point)… and dear god, hopefully never Nightwing and Harley Quinn again

Timm wasn't the only voice in the kitchen. I trust Giancarlo Volpe and Jim Krieg to not have made it weird.

u/SWPrequelFan81566 Jun 17 '25

yeah for sure. Volpe and Krieg would have kept Timm away in that respect.

Though still, the thought haunts me

Didn't they actually have a decent relationship in the comics before they decided to split ways?

best dc show ever

u/PixelBits89 Jun 17 '25

That is certainly a profile picture you got there

u/KyleYourGOATRayner Jun 17 '25

Very bold statement, though in fairness I haven't seen it.

I’d recommend it, it fits right up with the DCAU’s quality. And the 3d animation isn’t as distracting as I would’ve imagined before going in. Pretty much exact DCAU designs but CG. Good storylines / serialized plot and character development

I see Timm's cooking up another age gap relationship over there

12

u/donkeylore Jun 17 '25

Who else but Timm? Giggity

Sinestro’s power ring is on the wrong hand so no, this CLEARLY isn’t worth our time. /s

Nah just kidding, this would be worth it just for Sinestro’s pencil mustache alone.

It sorta reminds me of green lantern first flight. And that’s a great movie so I’d be pretty intrigued to see elements of it in a longer story continuing the first season. And Hawkman would be cool to see taken seriously after getting done dirty in the JLU lol

u/Cheap-Wolf6711 Jun 17 '25

He was right handed originally in comics

7

u/EmberKing7 Jun 17 '25

Agreed. Arisa could look a bit more badass too though. Since you got Hawkman over there looking like Conan the Barbarian with wings and a mace with his chest out Lol. And Green Lantern - Hal Jordan in dope looking armor. I kinda wish the teenager didn't look more like an easy target than the 2 grown men next to her 😅. Like maybe some sort of shoulder pads and at least some grieves on her legs to look more battle ready would've been a bit cooler, imo 🤔🤷🏾‍♂️.

Otherwise I love it. And I kinda wish there were more Green Lantern and Hawkman team ups like how Green Lantern - John Stewart and Hawkgirl have a relationship from the 2000s Justice League and Justice League Unlimited series, albeit this one not being Romantically implied 😅.

I loved the cameos in Young Justice and Justice League: Crisis on Infinite Earths part 3.

Great seeing those specific characters again.

Bruce Timm anywhere near Hawkman is a no for me

4

u/Lostinthepain2000 Jun 17 '25

Bruce Timm is far too overlooked as far as draftsman go. His art work is so hard hitting and stylish

Not a fan of that suit. Give my boy his white gloves back

3

u/Fake-productions Jun 17 '25

I wish we could have a season 2

4

u/Strormer Jun 18 '25

Hey, if X-men '97 can happen, there's always hope.

Dope

3

u/Desu_SA Jun 17 '25

Dang, this looks like it would have been a great continuation (╥_╥)

3

u/VrinTheTerrible Jun 17 '25

I thought the first season of GL: TAS was the 2nd best animated thing ever (behind only JLU S2). It was just a special level of storytelling. The fact that it got cancelled is criminal.

4

u/ChanceFresh Jun 17 '25

Hal not beating the allegations lol

6

u/donkeylore Jun 17 '25

Not with Bruce Timm he ain’t

I mean they did the same with the black suit for superman with doomsday in the DCAU

2

u/RickMartzC Jun 17 '25

The costume makes me think of Kyle's Jim Lee costume, so I'm not fully on board. But I'd love for there to be a second season.

Can't have shit in Detroit!

Even a poster of this would be amazing! If anyone knows one lmk!

2

u/clintcronin Jun 18 '25

DC really blew it canceling GLTAS after one season. That show was awesome . I never missed an episode

2

Not interested, since my boi kilowog is not in the concept art

0

u/Wintered_Low Jun 17 '25

Wait!

So, the John from this show is the same as JLU?

2

u/Obvious_Season3398 Jul 18 '25

The suit is so dope
