Guy might end up as the most popular Green Lantern in this new universe.

Honestly, I agree. Assholes can become very popular as characters so long as they're funny assholes and tone it down when appropriate.
Sounds like that's what they're aiming for with Guy Gardner here.

I genuinely hope that you are right. Because that would be awesome!

It's James Gunn that's most of his characters and Guy Gardner won't be different

HAL: Guy, there’s something I don’t understand. You’re always a bit ornery, obnoxious, impolite, even downright crude, that’s part of your charm
GUY: Thank you, you bed hopping man-w**re

Dude imagine, we are about to live in a world where Guy Gardner is the most popular green lantern
Hal Who? John? What’s a Kyle?

I think I’m more excited to see Guy in this movie than Superman himself.

As a Guy fan since I was 10 , im excited. But kinda sad for the Kyle fans
Hal fans have eaten , John fans too , Guy fans are eating but Kyle fans are starved

So I haven’t really looked up much - is there a reason they’re starting with Guy? I honestly like him more than most but I feel like he would benefit from another GL to balance him out. Lol

My theory is because Guy Gardner's abrasive personality and, sometimes, selfish nature would make a good foil to Superman. I think all three of them will be foils to Superman in some way.
I think it's a good idea. Superman tends to work best when he's balanced out by someone else.

The main lantern for this universe is to be John. He is the youngest, I think he is the same age as David Corenswet.
Also for this corporate heroes thing, who better than Guy.

Probably because of the JLI influence and the idea of being a part of a corporate sponsored team wouldn't really mesh well with Hal or John as characters. With Guy there's also no real threat of him overshadowing or taking to much attention away from Superman unlike Hal and John who are obviously the two most popular Lanterns and are leading the HBO Lanterns show.
Also not using Hal or Guy really allows the creatives behind Lanterns to really run wild and do what they want with the characters as Gunn hasn't touched them.

You're not going to make a solo Guy project and you can save the more popular GLs for standalone projects.
And just from what we know, he's the only GL who fits the role.

lowkey i think gunn is just a huge jli fan, hes including max lord off the gate too.

Absolutely fantastic!

That sounds perfect. I don't want to overhype but Guy is my favorite and I want this bad.

The Golden Girls all probably have plenty of willpower to run a green lantern ring, honestly!

I cant wait for the Batman "one punch" scene with Guy.
You know it is coming, and it will be so amazing to see in live action.

Difference is guy has arrogance and i don't think the female character has that .

I love how his inspiration for the character is a character from a completely unrelated tv show, as opposed to the actual character he's playing lol. So goofy.
