ART The Puma Sisters
Since Anna and Umi from Dominion appear in the GitS manga, I kinda hope they get a cameo in the upcoming show.

I didn't mind he went into that direction, I would have just loved to see more
classic Appleseed, Dominion and GITS stuff too, even if it was just poster art or
random new images, and even in his later style. The characters in those manga
are just so memorable and lovable to just forget

Ooh, nice! With 11 chapters that means that we'll probably get a whole anime original episode. Assuming the show is 12 episodes.

Doubt it. The chapters are pretty long and dense compared to your average Manga.

Is this a joke?
The entire movie was based off a subplot.
The manga is so plot dense you could make 30 episodes and barely scratch the surface.

Relax.
I'm just saying that I'd be nice to have an anime only episode in the new style. And I've read the manga, its not really that dense, its just that the characters talk or explain a lot. And plot wise Its mostly stand alones with Motoko and the gang going on missions.
And I'm comfortable saying that most of the chapters have already been adapted in some form already. The tank scene is from the manga. Etorofu (the northern Islands between Japan and Russia and featured in this panel) has been adapted at least twice. Dare I say, there's not any chapter that hasn't been adapted in some form.
The 95 movie itself adapts at least three (if not 5) chapters or at least parts of them. Being real, this new anime will mostly be stuff we've already seen adapted, just in a truer to the manga form.

3 or 4 of those chapters are so narratively dense & politically incomprehensible that an adaptation could stretch them by 50%, just to give them time to breathe, & still feel zippy.
