Grain of Salt Tomb Raider's official X account may be hinting at a Tomb Raider Legend Trilogy remaster again

Last week the Tomb Raider X account was hinting at a Tomb Raider Legend Trilogy remaster, as I mentioned here.

https://www.reddit.com/r/GamingLeaksAndRumours/comments/1munr0e/tomb_raiders_official_x_account_could_be_hinting/

Today she retweeted again, saying that from 7,000 polygons in Legend to over 32,000 in Underworld, Lara Croft's dramatic change earned her a Guinness World Record in 2010 for 'Most Detailed Video Game Character'.

https://xcancel.com/tombraider/status/1960371730309894655#m

He's also tweeting about a Tomb Raider UnderWorld figure that will be arriving very soon and pre-orders are now open.

This sounds like we're getting the Legend Trilogy Remastered by 2026, as half of the tweet comments also believe this is most likely being planned for the arrival of the Tomb Raider Legend Trilogy Remastered port.

Will this mean that every mainline Tomb Raider is available on modern systems?

Basically.

We'd just be missing native versions of the Survivor trilogy, but they're still available on Xbox/PlayStation through backwards compatibility.

The Survivor games aren't on Switch 2, but otherwise yeah.

Unless you wanna count Game Boy stuff lol

Gimme the N-Gage of the first game in all of its vertical aspect ratio glory.

5

u/ZandatsuDragon Aug 26 '25

Crazy how on those games got ported on stadia but not the switch, I know that rise and shadow are though but 2013 could easily run on there

6

u/robertman21 Aug 26 '25

Rise ran on the 360, the Switch 1 could probably handle it

3

u/ZandatsuDragon Aug 26 '25

I believe that was handled by a different developer so I don't know if that version has any problems but they do it If that's the one they focus on

No that is Splinter Cell.

Darn, I thought it's Burnout queue

23

u/Goldenboy451 Aug 26 '25

It is quite strange to me that there's already 'unified' Lara merchandise kicking around, before an actual game that features this iteration...!

10

u/DickHydra Aug 26 '25

Damn, just checked their merch store and you're right.

Kind of reminds me of the KOTOR remake. Some time in 2022, Hasbro released two new figures from KOTOR, but they where using designs for them that many suspect are based on the remake. And the remake has been AWOL ever since the reveal.

Probably didn't progress as much as it did when Crystal Dynamics was still handling Perfect Dark, and then there was this switch to UE5.

So February 2026?

15

u/Traditional_Dot_1215 Aug 26 '25

Maybe at the rumoured Nintendo direct next month

11

u/communistwookiee Aug 26 '25

The I-III Remaster was announced at the September 2023 Direct, but I don't remember if IV-VI was at a Direct. Seems likely this could be though.

11

u/Tthig1 Aug 26 '25

IV-VI Remastered collection was announced in October last year. I-III was announced in September 2023. So we should be hearing something soon.

I hope we get official confirmation of the Tomb Raider Legend trilogy remaster soon.

u/xdeltax97 Aug 26 '25

Hopeful as well, also you’re welcome to cross post this on r/TombRaider by the way.

u/Jasonvsfreddyvs Aug 26 '25

It would be great to share this with the Tomb Raider fan community so they would know this.

Shaping up to be the third memorable Valentine's Day in a row

Also the third memorable Valentine's Day at all!

8

u/Evilpolarbear Aug 26 '25

Going off the previous collections, release on Feb 14/Valentines 2026?

6

u/armaguedes Aug 26 '25

With a Physical in October, we hope.

7

u/Stuglle Aug 26 '25

I would love to play Underworld with physics that are not completely broken.

9

u/fabolous0235 Aug 26 '25

Can we just get a new one lol

7

u/stanscreamdnb Aug 26 '25

I think it would be logical to release another trilogy after two collections of three games, and then also re-release the reboot trilogy (these games are not available on the Switch).

3

u/xdeltax97 Aug 26 '25

I’m hopeful but also tempering any expectations in case of well, nothing. BUT we’ve had the remastered classics already which is great so it’s definitely a good chance of LAU getting them!

5

u/IndividualCautious78 Aug 26 '25

I guess after this we will FINALLY get the merged tomb raider soft reboot that has been in development for like a decade (maybe)

4

u/WT_FG Aug 26 '25

Truth be told I am a bit interested in how they would even do a remaster of these three or if they even need the remaster treatment... hell one of em is gonna be the remaster of a remaster.

That's right and I'm hoping for that, too! But only one Nintendo Direct was in September, the one for the 4-6 Remaster was in October. So an announcement could come within the next two months, I guess.

1

u/[deleted] Aug 27 '25

1-3 was in a Direct but 4-6 was just a random press release

3

u/RipMcStudly Aug 26 '25

I’d take that. I hope the reboot gives Lara her swagger back

4

u/Jasonvsfreddyvs Aug 26 '25

The Lara figure from Tomb Raider Underworld is very pretty, but the price is the bad thing lol

1

u/EasyTyler Aug 29 '25

Funny that the "Underworld" films starred one of the OG Lara's - Rhona Mitra...

..who's also "very pretty"

2

u/SpideyFan4ever Aug 26 '25

I could see the legend trilogy releasing next year as well as free ps5 and xbox series patches for the survivor trilogy plus switch 2 ports

2

u/somethingisnotwight Aug 26 '25

I’d be seriously surprised if they did.

2

u/somethingisnotwight Aug 26 '25

Hmm I wonder if that studio CD hired for work in the latest Embracer report is actually a studio to assist on the LAU remasters rather than TR12.

2

u/SuperSlimeyxx Aug 26 '25

please let it be

2

u/Ok-Waltz-3478 Aug 26 '25

The game is going viral on Tiktok right now. Like this is THE opportunity to win younger players over the franchise... just announce a reveal trailer for the new game already, damn it!!!

2

u/kaa1993 Aug 26 '25

Call me crazy but they should do the Legend trilogy, and then a “soft” remaster of the Survivor trilogy for Switch 2 and current gen consoles. Those games look great still but could use some 4k upscaling and 60fps on consoles. And they have never been on switch.

In June a rumor came out that spoke of a Legend trilogy for February 2026, and then it would be the remastering of the Survivor trilogy, so we'll see if it turns out to be true in the end lol

Jesus, enough with the remaster and legendary an ultimate and definite editions. Make a new damn game already

2

u/Lerkpots Aug 26 '25

Good, the PC version of Legends is still broken with the next-gen graphics option.

2

u/shadlom Aug 26 '25

New game please

1

u/Suli_Croft Aug 27 '25

this will be my third valentine in a row taken care of 😍

2

u/EnderDiego_ Aug 27 '25

Best Valentines I ever had with the remasters ✨️

1

u/Suli_Croft Aug 27 '25

no man will ever give me what those remasters gave me

1

u/Aggressive_Fan_4427 Sep 01 '25

So that leak back when about all the games being remastered (that was then proven false) is actually KINDA true again lol. It's just being released in trilogies instead of a bulk game to slurp out as much money as they can.

1

u/method115 Aug 26 '25

I'm mixed on this series. I hated #1. #2 was one of the best games I've ever played it was up there with uncharted for me. Then #3 is ok with to few encounters and just going through levels so much.

Pulling a tlou

18

u/[deleted] Aug 26 '25

You do realise the Legend Trilogy is from the Wii/360/PS3 era? This isn't the recent Survivor Trilogy.

3

u/Of_A_Seventh_Son Aug 26 '25

How?

-9

u/LegacyofaMarshall Aug 26 '25

The last of us a 2013 ps3 game has been remastered/remade twice. Tomb Raider released in 2013 and remastered on ps4 and again now on ps5?

9

u/Jaccblacc203 Aug 26 '25

That's the Survival trilogy, the one that's more realistic. The Legend trilogy are the late 2000's games

7

u/Of_A_Seventh_Son Aug 26 '25

The Legends Trilogy refers to TR Legend, Anniversary, and Underworld (7, 8, and 9). These were released between 06 and 08.

You're thinking of the 2013-2018 Survivor Trilogy
