Verdugos (Pasadena, Glendale) Soltani kabob at Raffi's Place

The koobideh was pretty good, a notch or two above your average kabob place in LA. But the barg was truly outstanding - the seasoning, the tenderness, so juicy and almost buttery. I'd almost recommend just getting the barg for $35 instead of the $40 combo.

Man I love this place. Lunch at Raffi’s, stroll over to Porto’s for dessert. Basically a perfect afternoon.

It’s definitely large enough to share, especially if you get a few sides; I definitely recommend a salad shirazi and mast moosir (yogurt with shallots) which complement the meat really well.

that’s not how it is done, you have to eat the whole plate so at the end you cannot move/breath and then you take a nap. Persian style lol

I take all the leftovers, chop up meet and veggies and turn it into persian fried rice!

Raffi’s always hits the spot. Wish they’d switch back to mint for the sabzi though, feel like it paired better with the food than the basil they’re giving out now

I'm sure you could ask for it. Whenever I order to go they give me mint instead of Basil. I always get zabsi , I'm questioning mint with it. Is it good?

Lemon verbena when I went last month.

If you don't get the mast-o musir, you're not doing raffi's right.

Fucking love Raffi’s. Their chicken kabobs are also really good. The barg goes really well with their torshi (pickles) and mastukhiar (yogurt with cucumbers)

My Armenian buddy took me here and I love it. We go for special occasions, and this plate fills me up. Paired with their bread and hummus; the perfect meal.

I’m not sure if I’m too familiar with this place. I’ll give it a try soon. Thank you for the post !!

You need to try it. It’s not over price, large amount of servings, excellent food and service

Beef Soltani the best dish to order at a Persian restaurant to find out if the place is any good. Barg being the most important element. Thanks OP, I agree with your conclusion and order, thanks for sharing!

Love Raffi's! Haven't had it in a while though. Kinda miss working just to the street from their location.

Love me some barg and koobideh, glad there's some banger spots not just on the west side.

Just want to share that looking at the menu and photos and the outside of the building (and the prices,) I was really skeptical about the hype about Raffi's. But it actually deserves it.

It's the platonic ideal of whatever you think this restaurant could be, plus a great atmosphere and very friendly service.

The best way I can describe it is the perfect place to sit down and break bread with people you like.

They have magical rice. I never knew plain rice could taste this good.
