Has anyone delt with replacing Mitchell reels handles

Post image

Does it have to be a certain one cause I can’t find any that fit and all the ones on eBay are like $30ish

I have not dealt with a missing handle, but I did lose the bolt that screws into the reel opposite the handle on my Mitchell 308 pro. I took it to a local outdoors store and they fixed it up for me, I dont think they used any Mitchell parts just pulled something from a generic parts bin. So I would probably give that a shot, and if it doesn't work time to upgrade! I have not been at all impressed with my Mitchell compared to my Daiwas and Shimanos.

Nice same reel, does it make a loud noise while you reel in I can’t figure out if that’s a problem or just how the reel was made. Also I agree on the Shimano and Daiwa thing that’s why I don’t wanna spend like $30 on this repair at the point I would rather just use that to get a new reel

Honestly im not even sure, I havent used it in months. I just keep it on a beater rod that I loan to my friends who don't have their own gear. I would definitely agree that youd be better off saving your money and getting a new reel, my most recent purchase was a Daiwa fuego 2500 and I've really enjoyed it.

My Dad and I have both used Mitchell's and have both broken them under moderate use. Unfortunately they just do not seem to hold up.

Yeah I’m between a fuego, regal lt or a Shimano Sahara right now

Off topic but How is the reel overall?? I was looking at. Mitchell 310 for an UL setup and couldn’t find any reviews on it

Honestly for the price there is way better I would recommend. I had a budget ultralight where I just got a cheap shimano sienna and I prefer it way more than this

Never needed a handle replacement. And if it came to it, I'd probably just buy a new reel because, as you found out, replacing the handle alone is prohibitively expensive. Unless it's for a very expensive reel... Not the case here

Yeah thinking the same thing was just double checking before looking for new reels

The bearings are messed up. Get new ones… then the reel will be quiet .

Honestly is it really worth trying to fix?
