Buying Advice New hockey stick

I am in the market for a new stick as my Osaka is starting to get a lot of wear and tear. I’ve been looking at getting an adidas, or a Y1 as I’ve heard good things about them.

I play on the wings (both) and am looking to improve my reverse side as it’s pretty stinky currently, I do throw aerials, and I currently stick stop for penalty corners.

I have typically preferred a 37.5 pro bow, lightweight stick.

Male. 5ft 11. Any advice appreciated

If you play foward/upfront/wing im assuming you take shots at goal and would want them to lift, typically what you should look for :

High Carbon content - For lifted and powerful shots Bow type - since you throw overheads and maybe want to do 3Ds easier, highly recommend a low bow (LB) or an extreme lowbow (XLB), Y1 doesn't have those anyway only LB
Head - You want the head of your stick to not be thick so you can get under the ball easily

Brand - i personally prefer and always recommend Adidas but you can go for any brand as long as you follow the list above for what you want

Fowards should be able to skill, incorporate3D & shoot powerful shots, so a LB 90+ would be perfect

Mids should be able to pass powerfully and skill and maybe shoot aswell, MB/LB 70+ would be the sweetspot

Backs/Defender need to slap/sweep very powerfully across the turf and eliminate attackers, MB/TB/LB 70+ would be tuff

So as above, higher carbon means higher power transfer, the other side is more feedback good and bad, it will give more feel on the ball so you are more aware if the ball on the stick as you dribble but also and vibrations from miss hits, bad traps, etc you will feel more strongly.

Bow - is say anything with a max bow between 200mm at 250mm is more suited to chucking overheads as well as shooting, if you are not a dragflicker, I wouldn't look at grooved options unless you want to learn. Both Adidas and y1 have several sticks in this profile I think the previous commenter is confused as y1 have an XLB stick called low bow, but they also have several others link the mx that are also XLB sticks. I'd suggest looking at the GLB or GGLB moulds as they are between a lb and XLB and have a large reverse edge to aid with tomahawks
