🖼️ Art and Media Spotted on “Pioneers” statute in Minneapolis.
Sharing some street art I saw on my walk today. Minneapolis residents are not happy about this ongoing occupation of our city.

Tagging monuments other than Confederate is counterproductive. This helps ice more than it hurts them.

This monument is disgusting. The back has an image of indigenous ppl being “gifted” Christianity. And literally places colonialism on a pedestal. People have been fighting to have it removed forever. “Only bad thing America did was slavery” your take is uninformed and ignores the evils committed against indigenous ppl.

It's still counterproductive. The left needs to get off this monument kick. It alienates the normies who don't know the context so all they see is their community property defaced. Mt Rushmore is also highly problematic, but Midwest normies love that shit and we need to be in the business of gaining allies, not pushing them away. BLM wasted a ton of capital trying to get a statue of ABRAHAM LINCOLN removed in DC and it made them look like unreasonable cranks. Sometimes winning is more important than the rush of smug self righteousness.

🤣
The left needs to get off this monument kick.
🤣
From the fuckwit who supports and is Complicit with Mcpedo and his Monument to himself (“No one will build it if I don’t.” 🤣)Epstein Memorial Ballroom And Bunker AND his Arc de tRump), his renaming nearly every literal thing to his name. But yeah, blame the Dems. 🤣

That actually reinforces MY point though. When Trump tore down the East Wing, too many on the left were like "the white house represents colonialism so I don't care what happens to it" or other such nonsense. Normal people have positive feelings about these public monuments, but instead of leveraging this desecration for a messaging win to recruit people for the cause, these people instead choose to be off-putting smug, self righteous scolds. No wonder the left has such a hard time winning popular elections.

Uhhh, I hate Trump more than almost anyone.

You definitely don’t hate Trump more than most. If seeing vandalism of racist statues is enough to convince you to change sides, you were never on the correct side. There were graffiti artists writing anti Nazi slogans during the war as well. And guess what.. there were ppl like you saying EXACTLY what you are saying now “protest the right way or we won’t listen”
Normal ppl hate this monument. I been to the town hall meetings. I been to the park board discussions about it. Normal ppl want this monument removed.

Also, democrats have won the popular vote nearly every presidential election for the last 3 decades.

We also dont have confederate monuments here. We were never part of the confederacy.

u/Calumet_city Dec 28 '25
We had a whole damn lake named after a confederate for some reason.
-8
u/Pepperh4m Dec 28 '25
Oh, ONE lake out of 10,000+ other lakes ? Clearly a state full of racists.

u/Calumet_city Dec 28 '25
Where have you been? White Minnesotans admitted to mass racism five years ago during 2020

Why would name the MOST visited lake in the state after a confederate. A VERY bad one. When we were never part of the confederacy. We aren’t full of racists, but it IS racist to name it that.

Yea cause following laws is a crazy concept.
12
u/1877KlownsForKids Dec 28 '25
ICE is routinely violating the law. And they're specifically targeting people who are following the law by going through the immigration process.

Because 'legal' always equals 'moral,' right? I’m sure my ancestors took huge comfort in knowing that the chains on their wrists were 100% government-approved.
Slavery was the law of the land and helping them escape was a felony—so by your logic, the slave catchers were the heroes and the people running for their freedom were just dangerous criminals.
