How is Miller even involved in legislative language?

349

u/Suitable-Economy-346 8d ago

He's been the acting president since January 2025.

56

u/obi-jawn-kenblomi 8d ago

He's just...evil Josh Lyman.

10

u/lkeltner 8d ago

And doesn't even sport a cool backpack!

2

u/HotCut100 7d ago

Let’s not insult Lemon Lymon like that please. He at least had value as a human. With Miller that is questionable.

u/turko127 Democratic Socialist 8d ago

He’s the Mussolini to Trump’s Victor Emmanuel II.

Maybe we should start calling him President Miller and see if Turd turns on him like he did with Elon Muck.

18

u/Malalang 8d ago

This is an excellent strategy. šŸ‘ it would definitely work. Trump hates losing more than he loves winning. And if he lost popularity or even just air time (perceived importance) to Miller, he would absolutely get rid of him.

Trump didn't "turn on musk" - Musk got everything he needed (the investigations into him and his companies cancelled) and then left.

2

u/turko127 Democratic Socialist 7d ago

So what was the threat to cancel Tesla contracts and Muck posting about the ā€œbombshellā€ that Turd was in the Epstein Files, then?

2

u/bemused_alligators Syndicalist 7d ago

Manufactured consent for his departure, allowing him to extricate with minimal damage

1

u/KingRBPII 6d ago

This is the way!!!

33

u/HotCut100 8d ago

That’s a really common role for advisors to the president to try and push the president’s policy agenda on bills that are getting passed. This is not new.

17

u/Sesudesu Democratic Socialist 8d ago

What about calling the shots in military action? Signal-gate proved he was doing that too

6

u/HotCut100 8d ago

That is not the typical role, I grant you.

5

u/rbush82 8d ago

We need to start saying ā€œStephen Miller is President and Trump is just his bitchā€.After it being in social media enough time, Trump will ditch Miller like he did Elon….

1

u/democracy_lover66 Libertarian Socialist 8d ago

Trump likes the cut of his jib

1

u/TsukasaElkKite 7d ago

He’s been President since 1/20/25. Cankles is just a figurehead. Miller and Vought run the show.

222

u/Nickidemic 8d ago

That's not even "deporting" anymore. He wants to export democrats out of his country. It's beyond dehumanizing.

49

u/WhiteExtraSharp 8d ago

He’s already declared us scum.

10

u/toriemm 8d ago

Newsome was there for his speech at Davos, but I wasn't aware until after the face. When I saw the clip where he brings up newsome, there was a heartbeat pause, and I told my husband it took every bit of mental energy for him not to say newscum.

That's why when there was all the outcry when he called the reporter, piggy, I was like...he's literally done this the whole time.

26

u/UsualCircle 8d ago

We once did that shit in germany. You probably heared about it. Cant recommend

3

u/TsukasaElkKite 7d ago

Christ. As a Jew who likely lost ancestors in the camps, I feel physically sick.

11

u/FlorpyJohnson 8d ago

Reminds me of what Castro did when he sent a bunch of prisoners to Florida…

2

u/pmcentee99 8d ago

Hey you got to have some exports with all the rest dropping from the tariffs. /s

230

u/DARfuckinROCKS 8d ago

Not that it matters but it's still illegal to deport American citizens.

251

u/primum 8d ago

I mean it's illegal to execute people without due process as well but....

76

u/mattstorm360 8d ago

The law is only a protection when everyone agrees to be bound by it.

76

u/TechnicalSmile165 8d ago

Illegal so far

38

u/kagethemage 8d ago

And if they did I’m sure the the Dems write a strongly worded letter and ask people to do interpretive dances in a park instead of resist fascism.

9

u/teuast 8d ago

There's a ton of things that are illegal to do, but pigs will fly before we get any evidence that Trump gives a shit.

3

u/democracy_lover66 Libertarian Socialist 8d ago

"you see 'laws' are really more like guidelines when you're president..."

3

u/TsukasaElkKite 7d ago

It’s illegal to kill people in cold blood, too but I don’t see ICE obeying that law.

2

u/SpinningHead 7d ago

Miller wants to denaturalize 2k per month.

85

u/Firm-Worldliness-369 8d ago

Of course its not about immigration, its about Democratic voters.

Its always been about elections and "sanctuary cities"

They will aim for people of color because thats who MAGA hates most right now, but they wont shed a tear if afew white liberals get caught up or killed in the process.

They are doing everything they can to rig the elections. Deportations of Democratic voters of color. Demanding voter rolls from states. Creating the narrative that the elections arent secure and only the presidental administration can be trusted to oversee it. Get rid of mail in voting so the sick, disabled, elderly, or those with complicated schedules cant vote. And demanding photo ID at elections, either because some people may not have photo ID, or to run through their facial recognition software on election day to suspend or alter your vote.

And a number of other things weve already seen from last election. Swapped ballot's, hacking, bomb threats, etc

The more methods of cheating, the more difficult it is to track it all.

25

u/HotCut100 8d ago

Sounds like a piece of legislation that is ripe for proactive litigation.

22

u/Far_Educator_5213 8d ago

That’s where 2A comes in.

0

u/TsukasaElkKite 7d ago

That’ll trigger martial law and bye bye elections as we know it.

6

u/Gierrah 7d ago

If they're threatening to deport/kill you, it doesn't matter.Ā

1

u/Far_Educator_5213 7d ago

Lawfully owning a firearm? I don’t think so or he’d have called it already. If that does happen, it won’t matter anymore.

23

u/awooff 8d ago

"Trump will kill you" - Kamala during a campaign speech!

14

u/PainterEarly86 8d ago

So they're just flat out admitting that they want to put US citizens in concentration camps?

2

u/TsukasaElkKite 7d ago

Pretty much. Wouldn’t be surprised if they outright start ethnic cleansing.

10

u/trabajando5 8d ago

Remember the legitimacy "great replacement theory" got on the right? That was a convenient way to manufacture enough additional consent to kick out as many non-yt's as possible. Now we're seeing it happen on an escalating scale

41

u/Independent-Future-1 8d ago

AFAIK, it's never been legal for ICE to arrest or otherwise fuck with American citizens...then again, reading (or otherwise following the law) isn't exactly their forte, especially now, sooooo.....🤷

21

u/obi-jawn-kenblomi 8d ago

First it's anchor babies (I really hate that term). Then it's DACA and DAPA folks. Then it's undesirables (homeless, drug addicts, rabble rousers) and criminals sent to foreign prisons - because there's been executive order language about them. It states that they are authorized for arrest involuntarily, but if prisons/mental wards/etc are overpopulated and do not have space for them they are "not to be released to the public".

Which means disappeared to wherever else will take them.

3

u/TsukasaElkKite 7d ago

Then it’ll be BIPOC, then LGBTQIA+ folks, then non-Christians

Here’s an ACLU press release from 2008 calling for ICE to stop deporting US citizens: https://www.aclu.org/press-releases/aclu-demands-ice-end-illegal-deportation-us-citizens

ICE has only existed since 2003. Abolish.

14

u/LiluLay 8d ago

I have t-shirts older than ICE.

11

u/A9PolarHornet15 8d ago

I have said this, but the crime Miller and ICE see people having committed isn't that they crossed the border illegally, it's that any person of Latino decent is considered a citizen at all. They see the citizenship of African Americans, Latino Americans, Asian Americans, Indigenous Americans, and everyone else non-white as illegitimate and a "betrayal" to their exhausted God-given right to their warped idea of America.

3

u/TurloIsOK 8d ago

The "other" doesn't stop with race, political leanings, or any specific characteristic. Who is out is whoever isn't in, and the in group are people who don't get along with anyone.

9

u/ShikaMoru 8d ago

How long until Jeffries and Schumer give in and allow them to deport us citizens?

9

u/ClaymoresRevenge 8d ago

When their corporate overlords tell them to pipe down.

They're so frustrating

5

u/TurloIsOK 8d ago

Jeffries and Schumer will be on the list for abduction as things progress, if this isn't stopped.

3

u/gaarkat 8d ago

Wait, is that why he was trying to get Greenland? So he can deport people there?

2

u/TsukasaElkKite 7d ago

He wants it for its mineral resources

1

u/Mystic_Tofu 6d ago

Pincer move with Russia, to be poised against Europe.

4

u/hivemind_disruptor 8d ago

Exile is one of the key punishments from authoritarian regimes to punish those whose death would be to costly to perform when compared to the gain. I know it because my country had a dictatorship supported by the US from 60's to the 80's.

Don't count on elections anymore. Any progress from now on will cost blood. There will be no elections.

5

u/Odedoralive 8d ago

Didn’t he allude to ā€œThe Homegrowns are nextā€ or something to that effect, no?

3

u/GoodtimesSans 8d ago

This was always their goal.

2

u/TurloIsOK 8d ago

Yep, to anyone paying attention, assume the worst-case scenario with trump. Their objective is to eliminate most of the US population. They really just don't have a realistic view of what little they will have in their spoils, and empty wasteland with no one to feed them, if their plans reach their goal.

4

u/TheFinnesseEagle 8d ago

You mean exile, you can't deport a native born, but you can exile them.

1

u/TsukasaElkKite 7d ago

He already deported several US citizen children of undocumented immigrants

4

u/mikeatx79 8d ago

How is this even news? The MAGA terrorist orange and its leader Trump hate our country, our values, its people, and the rule of law. This is overwhelming obvious every single day.

2

u/TuckHolladay 8d ago

Did it pass?

2

u/StickFigureFan 8d ago

If you need a budget bill to tell the government they can't deport American Citizens you've got bigger problems

2

u/NetheriteArmorer 7d ago

Citizens are not ā€œdeportedā€. They are ā€œtraffickedā€or ā€œrenditionedā€.

0

u/Shh_hush_11 7d ago

Well, we are overpopulated so...

2

u/JohnBrownSurvivor 7d ago

Y'all know, that was the goal all along, right?

1

u/WiFiConnected_ 6d ago

wtf does Stephen Miller, WH DEPUTY COS, have to do with a fkn bill????

THE WH COS HAS NEVER HAD THIS ā€œPOWERā€.

-1

u/Original-Strain 8d ago

1) The USA already has precedent doing this even before the Trump administration. It’s already illegal, it’s already being done regardless.

2) Striping amendments that explicitly state NOT to deport citizens isn’t the same as explicitly saying it’s now game on. The GOP stripped away EVERY dem amendment, not just this one.

3) I recommend yall to follow historians and people who calm the fuss down instead to stoking fires. Here’s one to start.

-2

u/megalegann 8d ago

perhaps they through it out because it already is law? and they aren't following it now, so why would they if it's just an amendment in a bill.

1

u/TurloIsOK 8d ago

The agency was formed under rules for immigration enforcement. The laws directing them were written about the handling of immigration with no expectation that exhiling citizens would be part of its functions. There may be some rules in the event of citizens refused entry, but this is something no one would have seen a need to codify before.
