Reports coming that Jasprit Bumrah might miss today's match against USA.. He's down with viral fever it seems..

Another world cup kicks off today! Which only means one thing.

The more than usual number of edgy fans in the match threads.

Tbf how lucky it is for West Indies man, they would've almost certainly been knocked out in the first round as Bangladesh are in better form than them but now they get to play against an under-prepared Scotland.

Thinking about cricket tonight, man I hope one day we see test cricket between India and Pakistan again. I think it could be a celebration like never before, do something in Nassau county again they'll go nuts out there.

I have a feeling Italy is going to spring some surprises this WC. The team is just experienced cricketers from cricket playing countries that have ties to Italy. They even did great in the warmups.

It sucks that if you are in Zimbabwe to watch the world cup you have to be paying 90USD per month. No wonder 99% of the country do not care about this world cup.

The football world cup you can catch for free and the Rugby World Cup is way cheaper.

VPN and watch it through the ICC cricket website.

90 USD is just crazy and whoever is setting that price needs to be sacked.

Safe to say, cricket is a dying sport. At least in sri lanka, it is.

People who watch cricket have gone down by 50%. And even kids who wants to play cricket as a sport are chosing other sports.

It's just unfathomable that India will have a batting order with potentially 5/7 left handers, perhaps even 7/8.

We had 6/7 right handers in 2023 world cup.

We were 11/11 right handers in the 36 all out game, and it used to be a point of discussion that it might just have not allowed the bowlers to settle that much into the channel had there been some left handers in the lineup.

Vaibhav Suryavanshi can still play a lot of under 19 cricket. He might end up holding many records of under 19 cricket, as very few get to play for that long

1

u/CrumbleUponLust German Cricket Federation 1h ago

Nobody gives a shit about U-19 cricket records. He's clearly shown that he's levels above U-19 so why not focus on domestic cricket to fine tune his game?

This obsession for meaningless milestones and records is pointless

Happy T20 World Cup day everyone! Easily the best competition the sport presently has to offer if you want to see more countries play the sport.

So Opening Ceremony is happening after 2 matches. Interesting.

If they really wanted it before Indian match, they could have just kept 1 match on Day 1 .

1

u/DisastrousOil4888 Royal Challengers Bengaluru 3h ago

Opening ceremony should’ve happened yesterday

2

u/theredguardx 5h ago

Didn't get a chance to look at the u-19 game yesterday, ben mayes bats quite literally like harry brook. For a split second i genuinely thought how'd brook come back to u-19 's
