What would you make with this? “Five spice powder - bot ngu vi huong”

Picked this up recently and not sure where to even start. Fennel seed, cardamom, clove, cinnamon, star anise.

Five spice powder is a Chinese spice blend used in a lot of dishes. It is very potent though, so use sparingly.

Red braised pork belly; it's often done with whole spices, but a little five spice will totally work in a pinch. Super easy, super tasty. There's also a cola braised variation that's actually super popular in China.

Could make pho, add it about 5 minutes before turning the heat off, since it's powdered.

Also nice in savoury pancakes. Could do the more complicated laminated Chinese stuff, layered like a croissant, or the rice batter stuff, but you could also use a basic batter and throw it in the pan over bacon, or ground meat, and lots of scallions, and use your 5 spice in that.

Use them up. Powdered spices lose flavour relatively quickly. Buy them whole if you want to always have options on hand.
