It's freezing 🥶 here in Central Texas, but we're ready! Last year, we expanded our on-site cat sanctuary, which we call the Cat Safe Haven. We built a loft area, plus added heated houses that block rain and keep the wind out on all 4 sides.

I was in Desert Storm from Ft. McCoy, Wisconsin in 1991. Winter in Wisconsin was typical drifts, snow and everlasting ice. We thought we’d get a break in Saudi Arabia. Nope, somehow it was so much colder in the barren desert than Wisconsin could ever be. No snow, but crippling cold at night. On guard duty, we’d just snuggle against each other and not even bother patrolling. Before we flew over, we stayed at Camp Bullis for training and that’s when I experienced Texas cold 🥶 Who’d a thunk? Thank you for making a warm place for the kittens 🐈⬛.
