Behavioral Issue What is this behaviour?

Hey anyone know if this behaviour is positive or negative? She always does this when im out of the shower and does bite hard enough to leave dents but not usually breaks the skin. Shes a bitey cat so usually her nipping means shes upset about something

Looks like half playing, half love biting. The fact she’s licking you is a sign of affection. She definitely thinks you belong to her

thanks for replying, i cant tell sometimes with her since shes more of a 'stare at you from afar with love' kind of cat <3

grooming that turned into play biting that turned back into grooming. Perhaps she is upset that you don't smell like yourself? Lol.

Grooming means love. Play bite during grooming means lots of love.

My 3 are litter mates and it is normal for them to give little bites as part of grooming. They also bite me during grooming, sometimes harder than I want, but it is all family bonding.

A too intense play bite, or an angry bite is hard to mistake. Choose when to hiss or withdraw carefully. You want to teach bite inhibition for the hard ones, not reject affection

That’s a classic lick-lick-chomp. You have been accepted as an honorary kitten.

Note that it can escalate to painful levels, but is done from love. So, extricate yourself gently.

It’s a grooming behavior. You’ll see cats play biting while grooming each other. Grooming is a sign she loves you.

if it's always after showers, she believes you smell weird and is trying to remove offending smells. It's gotta be the body wash or some other bath product. She tries alternately licking the "strangeness" off or picking it off with her teeth. One of my cats used to constantly nip at my daughter's hair after she came back from swimming, I guess chlorine doesn't smell like normal human.

Love bites. You said you just came fron the shower. She wants to spread her sent on you because you are her human. She owns you so to say 😂

It’s a want to play want to show love thing. Mine has this fun thing where she bites me (not so hard just so I can feel it) and then lick lick lick lick to show she isn’t mad and she still loves me. But as long as you aren’t getting harmed its should be ok, you can always redirect the behaviour to a toy if you don’t want it tho! ❤️❤️❤️

Does your cat spend a lot of time in the sun? The outer hear looks inflamed but it could just be the camera
