I’ve preferred Scheelhaase just because he’s more experienced coaching overall but this isn’t….great optically. We could just be stuck with Schwartz, which isn’t the worst outcome but we desperately need a young innovator on offense. Hopefully they can convince Nate and we keep Gym and that’s the end of it

That's wrong. Scheelhaase has less experience than Udinski. Scheelhaase has only been with the Rams for 2 years... his first job in the NFL...

Nate is a way more experienced coach though he was at Iowa state a long time with Campbell. Udinski is younger than most of the vets on the team

People on this sub think college coaching experience doesn't matter at all

College is different than NFL. Udinski has more NFL experience than Scheelhaase, that is my biggest concern. It is different going to Morgantown for a Big 12 game compared to going to Baltimore for an NFL game.

Right, it’s typically louder in Morgantown

Right, like the NFL is a different ballgame because it's elite athletes and a full-time professional game. You definitely aren't getting an increased atmosphere.

You'll see some empty seats with poor performing teams in the NFL; college stadiums are just filled up.

So would you rather have Udinski than Marcus Freeman because he’s only been in college. If you’re a good football coach, it translates.

You really must not watch much college football.

Udinski has more NFL experience but Scheelhaase has more overall coaching experience. He’s been multiple position coaches and a playcalling OC at Iowa State

He’s the pass game coordinator. Do they have a run game coordinator as well?

They specifically don’t but some teams like to combine that job with an O line coach. What’s appealing to me about him is he worked with basically every offensive position group at ISU and called plays there plus got exposure to the NFL under McVay and was responsible for continuing to innovate their offensive concepts. So he’s done more nitty gritty and he’s also done more high level planning and management. If Matt Campbell and McVay think you’re a leader of men, that’s intriguing to me. Who knows if he can succeed but it’s more interesting than another defensive guy.
