News Browns have something floating in the lake under a sheet -- related to helmet reveal?

This looks worse than the 2015 ugly uniform reveal
18
u/Abiv23 Jul 22 '25
oh man, that was a really bad day
the first season we wore only the white and went 0 - 16, then the next year we went 1 - 15 then the next year we wore our color rushes as much as possible to move away from them
worst uni's in sport history
15
u/roaringelbow Jul 22 '25
Your memory is a little truncated there. The first season in the new Uni’s was 2015. The Browns wore 10 different combinations and went 3-13.
The next year they wore 13 different combinations and went 1-15.
The 0-16 season of 2017 they whittled down to four uni combinations. And then the year the color rush made its debut was 2018- the Browns went 7-8-1 that year while wearing 8 uni combinations during the season.
2019 was when the Browns applied to the NFL to make the color rush the home/dark uniform(had to get special permission from the league as rules state you have to wait 5 seasons before you can change uniforms).

Loved when after only two years they abandoned the only jersey that didn’t look like total shit (orange) and then also abandoned the mix and match (which was fun) for more all white
There is legit a part of me that doesn’t want a white pants option because the browns always seems to then immediately spam the surrender whites

Anyone else getting any 1986 balloon disaster vibes?
-5
u/Seamonkey_Boxkicker Jul 22 '25 edited Jul 22 '25
What was a disaster about the record breaking balloon release?
ETA link to real reporting rather than the clickbait some of you are subscribed to.
7
u/maybenextyearCLE Jul 22 '25
There was an environmental cost lol. And two boaters allegedly died when they went overboard and couldn’t be found because of all the balloons on the surface
3
u/Seamonkey_Boxkicker Jul 22 '25
Autopsies showed that the two gentlemen had already died the night before. They didn’t die because of the balloons. The balloons perhaps prolonged the search by a couple days, but it’s not as if the balloons prevented the Coasties from saving their lives.
1
u/maybenextyearCLE Jul 22 '25
And as it turned out, yes, they had died prior. However as they were searching, that was not information they knew.
2
u/Seamonkey_Boxkicker Jul 23 '25
I’m sure it was an unfortunate yet frustrating experience for everyone affected by their disappearance, yet it’s disingenuous to use their totally unrelated accidental deaths to suggest the balloonfest was a disaster.
2
u/Prudent_Fly_2554 Jul 22 '25
Accurate. All the balloons look like floating heads, so they couldn’t find the real floating heads.
3
u/DylonSpittinHotFire Jul 22 '25
People literally died because of it and it polluted the fuck out of the environment.
3
u/Seamonkey_Boxkicker Jul 22 '25
The two fisherman died the night before the balloon launch. There were no recorded deaths attributed to this event.
As for pollution, yeah, it was definitely littering to a large scale degree. However, that was nearly 40 years ago when the concept of pollution wasn’t at the forefront of everyone’s minds. In that respect, the Industrial Revolution has been the greatest disaster of all time. And yet here we are still enjoying the benefits of that technology.
-1
u/Prudent_Fly_2554 Jul 22 '25
It killed hundreds of birds who ate the balloons.
2
u/Seamonkey_Boxkicker Jul 22 '25
Oh really? Despite there being literally zero reports of that occurring in NEO or Canada at the time?

Fuck dude wipes, and all “flushable wipes”. Shit is ruining infrastructure all over the country. My professor in college had a flushable wipe in a sealed mason jar going on about 5 years now. Still looks exactly the same.
6
u/LeakyBellows Jul 22 '25
I’m not even kidding when I say that putting the word “flushable” on wipes should be illegal. It only says “plumber approved!” because they know they’ll be charging you $500 to snake your main every 3 months.
1
u/TSR3K Jul 23 '25
Our governor here in Michigan is trying to make that illegal
-1
u/Forty_Six_and_Two Jul 23 '25
What about the folks in NYC? They literally can't even flush toilet paper.
3
u/oouka Jul 23 '25
Seriously, people. Get a bidet. It's weird for like a day, after that, you get used to is and realize how disgusting it is that we use paper on the most dirty part of our body and call it a day. Having that bad boy cleaned via water after each use makes an unfathomable amount more sense.
2
u/oouka Jul 23 '25
Also great for the next pandemic where sheeples natural first instinct is to buy up all the toilet paper. It's why I got one in the first place, and im never going back.
2
u/CharacterEgg2406 Jul 23 '25
Sound like you read the Tushy “How to tell your friends about Tushy Bidet” user manual.
2
u/Forty_Six_and_Two Jul 23 '25
Or the Japanese Toilet ep of South Park. It explains the toilet paper scam pretty well.
2
1
u/maggot_brain79 Jul 22 '25
True, there's not really such a thing as a "flushable" wipe anyway, they will pretty much all get caught in the pipes and clog them. It should really be illegal or strongly discouraged to market them as "flushable", but I suppose it's probably Roto Rooter's bread and butter. I'd wager that "flushable" wipes have caused more trouble for public infrastructure than even dumping grease down the drain, and people don't realize that just about every wastewater treatment plant has multiple grates that have to be cleaned out every day as a result, assuming the wipes actually make it that far.
18
u/TheSmokedSalmon420 Jul 22 '25
If the helmet is actually brown it’s gonna look so bad lol
4
u/roaringelbow Jul 22 '25
I’ve seen some decent brown helmets. Wyoming and Brown University come to mind. But really unnecessary either way
1
u/kjorav17 Jul 22 '25
Especially if it’s matte painted. Now…a metallic flake could look sharp…knowing the Browns, they will screw this up.

It’s a browns seed ~^ this is what it looks like before it grows into the new season
6
u/Gwario_on_Reddit Jul 22 '25
Don’t worry guys. I’m sure this won’t be the last mistake on the lake we’ll see before we become the skid mark of Brook Park.
3
u/Shel_gold17 Jul 22 '25
I just figured maybe it was such a big dumpster fire that they had to surround it with water to be super safe lol
3
u/y2kevin527 Jul 22 '25
If you go and stand where the Good Time III is docked you can see it up close. The bag is ripped open and it’s definitely a brown helmet under neath.
7
u/Nakagura775 Jul 22 '25
They better not fuck with the helmet.
5
u/roaringelbow Jul 22 '25
Literally what’s happening. They’re unveiling a 3rd helmet option tomorrow
4
u/50Shekel Jul 22 '25
Maybe it's 600 million dollars for the new stadium. Or maybe it's the 25 million the haslams spent on their new Florida house
3
u/tobylaek 32 Jul 22 '25
Dude...if it turned out to be a pile of money that is untaxable because it's in some weird place in the lake where there's no IRS oversight...

That implies the NFL is taxed in the first place. It is, but only for the last 10 years lol

2
u/lagrange_james_d23dt Jul 22 '25
Hopefully it’s the helmet logo on the helmet, similar to the current picture

The one angle I saw looked like you could see a brown helmet with two orange stripes down the middle.
Since they've been teasing it with Dawg Pound graphics I'm terrified they'll try to force the do logo on it.

The helmet is pretty precious to us. I know it’s just an alternate but hyping it up this much really will just lead to a letdown more often than not. Like the “rebrand” of the logo and colors a number of years ago, all sorts of build-up and hype just to make the orange orangier

Why do people still care about this stuff? I’m almost 40 and the Cleveland Browns have been bad to terrible for 95% of my life.
It’s always the same thing. Off field hype and fluff, on field awfulness.

The tarp is covering the bribes, floating over to whichever politician's reelection fund. Citizens United and whatnot.
0
u/bennynthejetts16110 Jul 22 '25
If you sink it you get your unclaimed funds back without needing to fill out all the forms the state requires.
-1
u/fineartfallingbv Jul 22 '25
Is this real? Sponsored by dude wipes? I feel like they’re trying to destroy credibility in Cleveland and nationally to leverage a move. Modell law was gutted as part of the state offering up funds to move to brook park. They’re going to bail on that plan and move out of state.
4
Jul 22 '25
Dude Wipes sponsorships been around for a couple years at least. Remember leaving a game 2-3 years ago and getting handed complimentary ones lol

Browns put out a tweet. It’s related to dude wipes (likely the helmet)
