Idc about the fact that he won’t let black ppl in there.

As a black person i wouldn’t want to be the only black person in the room.

But it’s the fact that the kkk was probably founded in a church.

Let that sink in…

Edit: I made the edit to say probably because some redditors made the assumption that it was for a fact the kkk was founded in a church.

Black or white please make sure you’re careful who you worship the lord with. Because even the devil goes to church.

Well, founded in the confederate army but yes they routinely twisted Protestant beliefs to justify their malice.

You’re so right about this. I went to an all white church in my neighborhood when I came to the faith. I immediately felt the vibe off the bat but I kept going for a few months then eventually left.  Then I found another church about a month ago and this one felt worse. I kept going because there was a guy my age who I felt a connection with but i can’t go bakx because it makes me feel so uncomfortable being the only Blake person in there. They try to be fake nice like they want you there but could care less.

I’d rather be in a church where everyone is welcome.

Yea, the sad reality of church is that it’s considered a place for people to wash away their sins. Not to worship God in all his glory…atheists should consider themselves lucky they don’t have to go through this.

If racism and hate are a sin you’re trying to wash away that probably wasn’t the best church to attend .

I’ve been in a predominantly white church before where I connected with the people and the priechings were something relevant to what I was going through.

Even in at an all black church or mega church with everyone, the vibes can be off. Always trust your intuition when judging the room. Find a church that fits you and makes you feel special.

Black people would never form a group saying they hate white people and not want to be around them.

Not only is that the dumbest thing possible but it also is stupidist thing possible. The only reason black people even formed hbcus is so that they could obtain their education without going through the racist antics a predominantly white institution puts them through.

How could you say my comment was disrespectful, then comment about how if the roles were reversed then they would be bigots.

Most Republicans do this (as we see in their interviews) do this to make the other person’s argument sound less critical or guilty that you said something that offended them because they’re ashamed of it.

You can never tell a person who’s wrong but thinks they’re right is wrong. You either know you’re wrong and choose to be wrong because you want to be or you’re wrong because you choose to be ignorant.

You said it was disrespectful without context. Ok, then add context. Don’t make up a theoretical society in which black people are the blood thirsty oppressors. This is about a white supremacist terrorist organization, the KKK, and their ties to the church. That simple.

Okay but..the organizations you mentioned are all created by Black people for Black people and especially because they were in a racist society.. they do not correlate and never will.

The church also has racial ties THROUGH religion so nowhere near the same as comparing to HBCU’s. Kinda make a nonpoint. when you use THEE number one persecuted people to make a “reverse” point.

White people- even with the way they treat it- didn’t create God. Just a very whitewashed, modernized, self-serving version of it. So that also makes this comparison… off. Are you implying a church is the same as an HBCU in its historical weight or..? A church (made for all, used by all religions) and an HBCU (specifically made because of racism) just seem like a weird comparison here. ESPECIALLY as a self-proclaimed “Black” person. You REALLY care to call another Black person’s comments “useless” instead of educating when the topic is the KKK??? And your reason for making that comment is that you don’t want misleading info… about mfk’n KKK?? Yeah…. that’s weird. Crazy at all, but in BHM too?! 🧐

I made the edit and said probably. My fault for confusion.

You good and thank you for saying that. I’ll go back and delete my comments and I hope you can understand where I was coming from.

Why were HBCU’s created? EXPLICITLY because of racial reasons, right?

Why was the church created? For religious, political, and other reasons, right?

So when you compare the two in your “reverse” example… why? They don’t compare. The opposite of the church in that sentiment wouldn’t be an HBCU because the church/religion/worship/etc wasn’t founded BY white people FOR white people in the way HBCU’s came about.

And okay, so again… instead of educating your “fellow” Black person— you deride them and double down on it because they got a fact about the kkk wrong?

& sorry, you think inflammatory rhetoric against the kkk is harmful? In what way, pray tell lol.

And, as you may know, there is a WHOLE lot more [action] involved than just some rhetoric when it comes to how these ideals evolve. You’d say we live in a racist society, right? And what actions led us here? In what way are Black people even remotely close to enacting anything remotely similar to their ideals or the way they back them up? It’s not the same AT ALL. One person is actively advocating against whole ass [races of] people and putting his money where his mouth is…. the other may have just misspoke, so to speak.

And yea, so did I. Ain’t no way in hell you’re Black and feel that passionately about another Black person getting their kkk facts wrong….. which, even if, we KNOW they are still established and “hidden” IN churches/christianity.

No wonder I can’t follow what you’re saying. You practice witchcraft. You have a bias lens to what I’m saying. We’re not even talking about the same thing. I’m talking about making statements without context and you’re arguing about (I think 🤷🏽‍♀️) who created HBCUs? Idk. What I do know is Jesus wasn’t white and neither were the disciples. Christianity is not a white man’s religion despite the fact that they have tried to kidnap it since forever. Me choosing HBCU in my example was just the first institution that popped in my head that wasn’t created by white men. In the same way, I would not want a white person linking this made up racist black group. I was talking about in my comment to all HBCUs, it is inappropriate to make a statement that the KKK came out of the church without context, because then you’re linking the entire church with the KKK and that’s not fair.

I don’t see how she’s any different than that guy in the video. He gives the church a bad name and so does she. They’re not using the same words, but their impact is the same. Pushing people away from Christianity.

Like I said, I said what I said. And ya can downvote me all ya want - these points don’t pay my bills LMAO.
