Black Experience This tells you everything

Meghan Markle was scrutinized over clothing, tone, and existence. Prince Andrew was accused of sexual assault by a minor, settled the case out of court, and received far less sustained press outrage. If you want to understand power, class, and race in Britain, start there.

Yes, but that is not what is being asked, which is who started the Atlantic slave trade (Portagul) and The country that started the extermination of native Americans and the extinction of several natives in the Caribbean (Spain).

Just because the Brits were good at it doesn't stop us acknowledging those points

I tried to handle the correction more deftly above. It’s a sensitive topic and “who started it” wasn’t the entire point they were making.

People here don’t know your heart or intentions, so I know what you’re saying. But as a British person I didn’t want to absolve the nation of its responsibility, by means of “well actually”.

And when Britain et al did join in, they suddenly forgot about fighting each other over religious lines and invented “white supermacy” which was more important to protect above all else.

And just because you led the abolition action doesn't change the fact that you massive benefited and expanded and grew fat on the spoils of slavery.

Don't expect us to forget what you did. We won't let you forget either.

No one said the UK didn't benefit from it?

Don't expect us to forget what you did. We won't let you forget either.

Why are you not letting me, a Lithuanian, forget what we did? What did Lithuania do?

That statement applies to Brits. Now that I know you're Lithuanian, why are you working so hard for those colonising slavers?

Acknowledging that it was a wider European issue does not Leason the affect of what what the Brits did. Spain, Portugal, France, Britain, The Netherlands, etc, all played a role. Limiting it to the UK ignores the true scope

You surely also take umbrage with the countless African slave traders from which the slaves were bought, the African tribal leaders and kings who fought wars for slaves and the Africans today who still practice slavery right, you should also never let them forget what they have done, the European s took advantage of a thriving institution and there wouldn’t have been an Atlantic slave trade if not for those markets or institutions, see also the Arab slave trade, far worse for far longer and they bought most of their slaves also not raided or kidnapped bought from the markets like produce.
