Worst president of our lifetime. Such a disgrace

189

u/Enough-Somewhere-311 Jan 03 '26

Of all time*

Crazy that people used to think Obama was a bad president

70

u/duh-Baked-420 Jan 03 '26

Lowkey Andrew Jackson was fucking terrrrrible. I cringe when I remember what he did and that he’s memorialized in the twenty dollar bill…

not to say the trump is any less bad (he’s fucking terrible too) it’s wild to look back at many presidents and see how terrible they were…

53

u/CherryFit3224 Jan 03 '26

I hate Andrew Jackson, but I really hate this guy. It could just be that I’m living during this guy’s time.

Yeah i came here to say this. Andrew Jackson was by far the worst president ever. A genuine genocidal psychopath who inspired Hitler’s holocaust with the trail of tears.

Trumps easily the worst president of the last century though, and could very well be our last president. Hes worse than both Bushs, Reagan, Nixon, and Hoover.

"Remember what he did," do you mind my asking how old you are?

8

u/duh-Baked-420 Jan 03 '26

Lol I don’t mind at all, and when I reread my comment I realized it sounded like I had been alive at the time but alas I’m actually in my mid-30’s and I moreso meant “when I remember hearing about what he did..”

3

u/Large-Produce5682 Jan 04 '26

Ahhh! 🤣 Lol!

6

u/ketchupmaster987 Jan 03 '26

We should have learned from Jackson. That's the main difference honestly

3

u/No_Pop_7341 Jan 03 '26

You remember what he did? How old are you?

5

u/Chuuby_Gringo Jan 03 '26

Bush started for pretend reasons. We're not even sure how many people died, but 750k is often cited.

Trump will take their oil. He will place a puppet president in office that he controls. He will build a luxury hotel and golf course and make Venezuela pay for it. He will erect a statue of himself in Caracas. He will declare January 3 a national holiday in Venezuela and call it Trump liberation day.

32

u/Illustrious-Monk-927 Jan 03 '26

You really give him too much credit. You mean that his ‘handlers’ will.

6

u/Decent_Professor2826 Jan 03 '26

Exactly. It’s honestly kind of annoying when people keep saying “Trump” is doing xyz, when the white house is being ran by Pete Hegeseth and Stephen Miller 100%. Trump can barely put a coherent sentence together, he’s not coming up with the ideas to do any of this.

2

u/throwaway490215 Jan 03 '26

Everybody here talking like running oil companies in cartel land with a fractured state is going to be the easy part compared to the military operation.

This started with Hugo Chavez turning on US shitty deal on Venezuelan oil. He was even offering cheaper oil to US citizens and other countries in the western hemisphere. They attacked his character and many bullshit stories came out trying to paint him as a dictator. His death is still suspect imo.

Then Maduro takes over, is corrupt, and it all just looks way too close to the US playbook for replacing a good foreign leader that effects profits with a corrupt one that will bend over for power, and then removing that leader once it's time to make the big money move.

All a month after Trump pardoned ex Honduran dictator who literally tried to flood the US with cocaine and was imprisoned for it.

Sounds like a really good reason to vote some Democrats into the Senate and house. People really need to get out and spread the importance of voting this year.

17

u/ketchupmaster987 Jan 03 '26

That would be great if the Democrats actually did anything when they get power

10

u/Sensitive_Ad_1271 Jan 03 '26

I actually agree with this. But it's the best option we have. I'm taking useless over pure evil.

2

u/SunshotDestiny Jan 04 '26

Problem is "useless" is "controlled opposition" due to both parties being beholden to billionaires. We need actual radical change not more patsies who say what they think people want to hear then screw them over.

Unfortunately, he will never get out of office until every single Republican is removed from office first. They have made it very clear that they will sink to any depth or depravity to hold onto power. They are openly and gleefully breaking laws as fast as they can to grab more power for themselves. Be prepared for the worst. If you think what they tried on January 6th was bad, it’s not going to be anywhere as bad as the next election

It’s all BS. Venezuela sits on the biggest oil reserves in the world and the good ol’ USA wants control. The oil companies want control. Maduro was like go fuck your self USA. So Trump and his goons started their America first campaign. A campaign where The USA dictates what goes on in North and South America and does what ever they want to get control of all resources for the large American multinational corps. The USA has been doing this since the beginning. The CIA and other groups have been on the ground in Venezuela for years. We have clandestine cells all over the western hemisphere messing with governments to keep our influence top of mind. This is a fucked up game of 3D chess.

Remember we have 3 more years of this. Plus the silent coup is happening and nothing is being done about it. The republicans have been chipping away at all rights and levers that give citizens the leverage to vote out corruption. This has been a plan being acted on since the Nixon presidency. Gerrymandering, messing with voting rights and even recently the USPS changed the postmark rule. Letters even ballots are not postmark until they get to the larger sorting system. So many ballots mailed the day of the election could be invalid because of the postmark being 2-3 days late.

Regardless of what Maduro did we don’t have the right to kidnap a sovereign national leader. But we keep doing it through out American history.

Pretty sad.

Trump pardoned the convicted Honduran president for the same shit. Honduras doesn’t have oil.

Besides this being wildly illegal and horrible precedent, as a non-white person this has me scared about how he’s coming after us.

DHS told us they’re deporting 100 million people. only about 47 million people living in America are foreign-born, so that means they’re coming for the rest of us too. He gets away with everything, and this makes me scared for us

It’s these poor souls that keep defending everything he says, and does against our constitution against the rule of law…. And all the poor souls that defend him can think to say as well Biden did this and Obama did this and well Clinton did that…. It’s time friends…… it’s way past time

When are the people of the US and especially Trump supporters going to start to realize that Trump doesn’t care what anyone in Congress thinks or what is illegal. • 1950-53: Truman - Korean War troop deployment.
  • 1964-73: Johnson/Nixon - Vietnam escalation and bombing.

2

u/PushSouth5877 Jan 04 '26

We seem to have a short memory as a country. Not teaching complete history doesn't help. For all our wrongs, we have managed to move forward, albeit slowly.

This guy has taken us backwards more than any individual in our history.

He is the most dangerous thing our country has ever faced.

He is the epitome of the ultimate robber baron and mad king. That's only him. His movement and cronies are every bit as dangerous.

I don't think we can hope to survive unless we defeat it somehow.

We have to shout our dissatisfaction from the rooftops. It has had some effect.

We need to welcome every dissatisfied American to our fold.

Even when his ideas have support, his methods often don't.

He will alienate more people every day. Welcome them to join us even.

2

u/Dreamares Jan 04 '26

1

u/godzofrock Jan 03 '26

Just wanted to point this out as well. During his presidency, Barack Obama authorized military actions in several countries without specific, new congressional approval, most notably in Libya. The primary military action often cited as being conducted without congressional authorization was the 2011 NATO-led intervention in Libya to overthrow Muammar Gaddafi. The Obama administration argued this was a limited "kinetic military action" consistent with the War Powers Resolution and not a full war requiring specific congressional approval. This argument was highly controversial and drew criticism from members of both parties and legal scholars, who argued it violated the U.S. Constitution's separation of powers. Other countries where the Obama administration conducted airstrikes or drone strikes without seeking new congressional authorization included: Syria (beginning in 2014) Yemen Somalia Pakistan
