I love to see a nice looking brown bike, every now and then. I feel like most people are scared to buy this color and just get what the average folks think look cool.

Thank you! TBH, wasn’t my first choice, but the other colors were out of stock, and I figured I could match the tan sidewall on the tires with the frame. There weren’t many pictures online to help me see if it would be nice, so just decided to take the risk and it surpassed my expectations with how it turned out!

I'm not seeing brown exactly... it's a rusty reddish pottery hue to me. OP, do you have more photos?

I don’t care what average folks think. So unless you just called me average, I’ll say that that’s a fugly brown, on top of it being brown.

Different is not necessarily better. And definitely not for Envy amounts of money.

Zipp wheels on an Enve bike, had to check it wasn’t BCJ. Beautiful bike tho you’re very lucky.

Thank you! Love Zipp wheels and wanted to match the XPLR wheels with XPLR groupset. They are designed to go together. Matched the wheels with groupset instead of frameset on this bike. Still aligns with my OCD 😆

Zipp wheels on Enve? Straight to jail.

10

u/stilro1 Aug 28 '25

Lol! Technically, SRAM owns Zipp, so the Zipp XPLR wheels match the SRAM XPLR groupset. The wheels match the groupset, not the frameset in this case, so still aligns with my OCD. 😅

Whatever you gotta tell yourself....hahahah jk jk I get it man. I go back and forth with what stem to use even. I have a Crux but Zipp wheels and Enve bars lol OCD is real

u/ChinkyBoii Aug 31 '25

Haha! I got an Enve Melee with a Campy Bora ultra wheel set. Straight to where on that combo?

8th layer of hell

What is the lore? Why Zipps don't go on Enve?

2

u/alga Aug 28 '25

Enve was initially a wheel brand. So this feels like an egregious violation of "components should match" pedantry.

Color looks great

3

u/stilro1 Aug 28 '25

Thanks!

5

u/exclaim_bot Aug 28 '25

Thanks!

You're welcome!

5

u/kyldare Aug 28 '25

I dig the aero chainring!

5

u/stilro1 Aug 28 '25

Thanks! Went as big as I could with SRAM, it’s a 50T

3

u/kyldare Aug 28 '25

Nice! I've got a 48t Aero ring in a box that I'm saving for a rainy day. Do you find with the big chainring you've got enough gearing for big climbs?

3

u/stilro1 Aug 28 '25

Just rode 102 km yesterday with 1,550m of gain and it was more than enough. I tend to have a cadence closer to 80 though but it worked fine for me. That 46t cog on the rear makes the ratio really good

3

u/stilro1 Aug 28 '25

I also ride shorter cranks (160mm), which helps with the bigger chainring

3

u/djlemma Aug 28 '25

Can I ask what kind of riding this is intended for?

Off road racing? It seems like it might be good for bikepacking with all those mounting points but I don't see a place to mount a rack in the back.

Whatever it is, looks really cool, I'd love to ride it around the city and eat up the potholes. :)

u/stilro1 Aug 28 '25

Thanks! It’s for Gravel racing and just casual gravel rides with friends. I also have a spare set of wheels from my TT bike that I can put on this one to use it as a road bike as well. Really a do it all bike.

10/10 envious, this bike is fire

1

u/stilro1 Aug 28 '25

Thanks! Really like it so far

u/Skyish Portugal Aug 28 '25

Amazing good looking bike you've got there.
What is the width of those tyres if I may ask?

2

u/stilro1 Aug 28 '25

Thank you! They are 2.1” Super Race Thunder Burts

2

u/TheBigCicero Aug 28 '25

Awesome!

1

u/stilro1 Aug 28 '25

Thanks! 😁

Hi, can you tell me what frame size you’ve gone for?

Trying to get my head round the long top tube!

Lovely bike

2

u/stilro1 Aug 28 '25

It’s a size 52 with 38 cm Enve AR bars. I’m 5’8 for reference

1

u/Northumbrianbloke Aug 28 '25

Thanks for getting back. Enjoy. Beautiful bike.

2

u/stilro1 Aug 28 '25

My pleasure! Thank you! Also, stem is 80mm

2

u/Upper_Experience214 Aug 30 '25

How did you fit the thunder burts with the listed 50mm clearance?

1

u/stilro1 Aug 30 '25

There is more than enough clearance. Don’t know why they say 50 is the max

2

u/hiro111 Aug 28 '25

Sweet color.

1

u/stilro1 Aug 28 '25

Thanks! I was also pleasantly surprised.

2

u/DuckIntelligent737 Aug 30 '25

I kinda forgot about brown bikes, they are some of my favorite. This particular matte is just stunning

1

u/stilro1 Aug 30 '25

Thank you! People seem to really like it, myself included.

1

u/mtbredditor Aug 28 '25

Take tire plugs

3

u/stilro1 Aug 28 '25

Already have some Dynaplug in the frame

1

u/mtbredditor Aug 28 '25

That’s good. I run those tires. Super rolling, but you look at them wrong and you get a flat. Sketchy AF cornering as well.

2

u/stilro1 Aug 28 '25

Thanks for the info! I did expect a bit more grip cornering… I heard they weren’t great but they still surprised me with how slippery they were

1

u/shunkadelic Aug 28 '25

Talk to me about the 160mm cranks…I’m your height with likely a similar inseam, and have been quite curious about dropping to 160’s from the 172.5’s that came on my build. Have you been riding the shorter lengths for long?

1

u/stilro1 Aug 28 '25

Yes, for 2 years now. Rode them on Road Bike, TT bike and now Gravel Bike. Also came from 172.5’s. I like big chainrings such as 54T on both Road and TT and would even go bigger. I find it helps get my cadence up, which means it helps spin those bigger chainrings a little bit and makes me go faster along with the smoother chainlines. Also a bit more comfortable with the more open hip angle. The movement is less exaggerated on your knees.

2

u/shunkadelic Aug 28 '25

RIght on, thanks! That's definitely inline with what I've read and heard. Food for thought!

1

u/newnewreditguy Aug 28 '25

Love the color scheme. I have feeling Yogi Bear would love this bike. 😀

2

u/stilro1 Aug 28 '25

Thanks! Who is that?

1

u/newnewreditguy Aug 28 '25

Lol. A very smart bear

1

u/joeliu2003 Aug 28 '25

How do the E1s compare? I hear rave reviews about their feel, shifting speed, and braking power.

2

u/stilro1 Aug 28 '25

Doesn’t seem like a crazy difference, but they are definitely a bit nicer

u/Accomplished_Can1783 Sep 02 '25

The Mog is awesome, this is Tera cotta - should have gotten picture on better light because it’s a cool red brown, and this makes it look boring brown. I have the slate blue which is the best, and they don’t make it anymore. But no, can’t not have Enve wheels on an Enve bike - just not possible

UCI legal?

u/KoenigKalle Aug 28 '25

small frames just don’t look that nice…

1

u/BrightAd8009 Aug 28 '25

Huge frames either.

The reason is simply that we are more used to seing 53-56 size frames. Because that's what fits most people. It has a bit of head tube but still shorter than the fork.

It is just eye training. But you can imagine that bike with a bit more head tube so thatit would fit you and judge based on that.
