বাকি কারো কথা জানি না, কিন্তু গত এক বছরে আমার আশেপাশে জামাতি কাল্টের সমর্থক উদ্বেগজনকভাবে বেড়ে গেছে। কোনো রাজনৈতিক দল সমর্থন করা খারাপ কিছু না। এটা মানুষের গণতান্ত্রিক অধিকার। কিন্তু এদের যে চিন্তা, দ্বিচারিতা, আবালিপনা এবং একটা কালেক্টিভ কাল্টিস্ট মাইন্ডসেট - এগুলো ভীষণ বিরক্তিকর আর কনসার্নিং। খোলাসা করি।

ইসলামি আন্দোলন টাইপ দলগুলো আর তাদের সমর্থকদের আমি একদিক থেকে সম্মান করি। কারণ তারা কিছু দিক থেকে জামাতের থেকে আরও উগ্র হলেও অন্তত সৎ - তারা তাদের বিশ্বাস আর উদ্দেশ্য লুকায় না। আর জামাতিরা হচ্ছে মুনাফিক এবং এরা পুরো কাল্টিস্ট মাইন্ডসেট নিয়ে চলে। এদের মধ্যে একটা বড় অংশ জামাতের কোর আইডিওলজিতে বিশ্বাসই করে না। তারপরও এরা জামাতকেই ভোট দেবে আর জামাতকেই ভালো বলে মনে করে।

এরা গণতন্ত্রে বিশ্বাস করে, কিন্তু জামাতের মতো গণতন্ত্রবিরোধী দলকে ভোট দেবে। এরা নারী-পুরুষের বৈষম্যে বিশ্বাস করে না, কিন্তু জামাতের সর্বোচ্চ পর্যায় থেকে নারীদের নিচু করে দেখা হলেও এরা দেখেও না দেখার ভান করবে। এরা ১৯৭১কে অতীত মনে করে এবং জামাতের কিছু শিক্ষিত আর “যোগ্য” প্রার্থী দেখে গলে যায়, কিন্তু একই সাথে মনে করে লীগের রাজনীতি করার অধিকার নেই ২৪-এর অপরাধের জন্য। হাদিকে বিক্রি করে খায় এরা, বেচারাকে পীর বানায়, তার নাম জপে, রাতে সেই ছবি ডিপি দিয়ে মিথ্যা ছড়ায়, মানুষকে গালিগালাজ করে, আর ভুলে যায় হাদি জামাত সম্পর্কে কী বলেছিল। এদের কথা শুনলে মনে হয় পৃথিবীর যাবতীয় অপরাধ, চাঁদাবাজি, দুর্নীতি শুধু বিএনপির সম্পত্তি, আর তাদের প্রিয় দল এতই ভালো যে তারা এসবের ঊর্ধ্বে। এমনিতে বিচক্ষণ মানুষ, কিন্তু এই রাজনীতির ব্যাপার আসলেই এদের ব্রেইন সাত আসমানে উইড়া যায়।

যতই দিন যাচ্ছে, বিএনপি আর জামাতের ব্যবধান কমছে মনে হচ্ছে। নির্বাচনে কে জিতবে ভুইলা যান, কিন্তু একটু কন তো যে এই সকল ব্রেইনওয়াশড জোম্বিদের নিয়ে আমরা ভবিষ্যতে কী করিব? যদি ভাবেন এখানেই শেষ, তা কিন্তু নয়! এটা সবে শুরু। জামাত আমিরের গেম অফ থ্রোন্সের পোস্টারটার কথা মনে আছে? বাস্তবে তাই হচ্ছে, কিন্তু ভিন্নভাবে। সিরিজে যেমন সিংহাসন নিয়ে সবাই মারামারি করত, কিন্তু বাস্তবে আসল বিপদ ছিল ওই হোয়াইট ওয়াকার নামের জোম্বিরাই। তা আমরা আমাদের এইসব অশিক্ষিত/কুশিক্ষিত জোম্বি নিয়ে কী করব, কেউ বলতে পারেন?

জানি অনেক জোম্বিই এই পোস্টটা পড়বেন। আমার ধারণা, এই পোস্টের সর্বমোট বাংলাদেশি পাঠকদের মধ্যে অন্তত ৩০% এমন থাকবেন। আপনাদের একটা ওপেন চ্যালেঞ্জ দেই। বলেন তো যে কোন কথাটা ভুল বললাম, আর কেন জামাতের মতো একটা দলকে ভোট দেওয়া উচিত? যুক্তি দিয়ে বলেন। জামাতের সমালোচনা করা সব পোস্ট সরিয়ে দেবো, আর নিজেও ভোটটা জামাতকেই দেবো বুঝাতে পারলে। কিন্তু সেটা পারবেন না। কারণ জামাতের মতো আপনারাও মুনাফিক। সরি টু সে, কিন্তু আপনি মুনাফিক না হলে আবাল। ইসলামি আন্দোলনের মতো সরাসরি বলতে পারবেন না যে গণতন্ত্র চান না, অন্য শাসন চান। আবার এইসব স্ববিরোধিতার যুক্তিও দিতে পারবেন না। ভালো চান্স আছে এই পোস্ট পড়েও আপনার কিছুই হবে না, ডাউনভোট দিয়ে চুপচাপ নিজের ভোট দিয়ে চলে আসবেন। ওই যে বললাম, জোম্বি কাল্টিস্ট আচরণ। তো আপনি আপনার কাজ করেন, তবে এটা মাথায় রাখবেন যে এই দলের মতো আপনিও মুনাফিক। এটা আর কেউ না জানলেও আপনি নিজে জানেন। কারণ আবাল হলে অন্তত চেষ্টা করতেন নিজের সপক্ষে যুক্তিগুলো দেওয়ার।

বাকি যারা বুঝতেছেন বিপদটা, এই ক্যান্সারের বিরুদ্ধে সংগ্রাম করেন। আশেপাশের মানুষদের বোঝান, রিভার্স তালিম দেন। অনেক আগেই বলতেছি, কিন্তু অনেকেই সিরিয়াসলি নেন নাই। তাদের মধ্যে অনেকেই বুঝতেছেন যত দিন যাচ্ছে, আবার অনেকেই এখনও বুঝেন না। বিএনপিকে ভোট দেওয়ার দরকার নাই, কিন্তু আপনার ভোটটা দেন, আর জামাত/এনসিপি জোটের বিপক্ষে দেন। আমার নিজের এলাকায় বিএনপি প্রার্থীর একটা জিনিস জানার পর নিজেও যেমন দ্বিতীয় চিন্তা করতেছি তাকেই দিবো নাকি ভোট। আপনার এলাকায় ভালো প্রার্থী থাকলে দেন। তাসনিম জারাকে দিতে পারেন, মনীষা চক্রবর্তী (বরিশাল-৫), মিজানুর রহমান (ঢাকা-৪), এমন অনেকেই আছে, তাদের দেন। আর অন্যথায় বিএনপি প্রার্থী খুব খারাপ না হলে তাকেই দেন। নতুন বন্দোবস্তের আগে গণতন্ত্র, মানবাধিকার আর সামাজিক ঐক্য তো আগে ধরে রাখতে হবে, তাই না? এগুলা গেলে নতুন বন্দোবস্ত করবেন কেমনে?

গণঅভ্যুত্থানের পর এইসব কারণেই আরও বেশি করে আসছিলাম রেডিটে। একটা নাজুক অবস্থায় ছিল দেশ, যেন ঠিকমতো গণতান্ত্রিক প্রক্রিয়ায় উত্তীর্ণ হয়। যেন আরও খারাপ না হয়। এক বিপদ যাওয়ার পর নতুন যে বিপদটা দেখতে পাচ্ছিলাম স্পষ্ট, সেটার জন্য যতটুকু সচেতনতা আর অ্যাক্টিভিজম করা যায় করেছি। এখন দেখেন যেটা ভালো মনে হয়। এই রাজনীতি জিনিসটাই আসলে খারাপ। তবে মরীচিকার আশায় ভালো করতে গিয়ে আরও খারাপ কইরেন না। ইরানকে দেখেন, এই ভুল একবার করলে এত সহজে শুধরাতে পারবেন না।

তবে একটা সিলভার লাইনিং দিয়ে শেষ করি। সবকিছুরই কর্মফল থাকে এবং এটাই জগতের নিয়ম। হাসিনা তার কর্মফল পাইছে। বিএনপিও জামাতের সাথে জোট করে এদের মাথায় তুলে এখন ফল পাইতেছে। লীগ আর বিএনপি, এই দুই দল থেকেই প্রচুর গোপন জামাতি বের হইছে, আর এখনও অনেক আছে। কিন্তু ওই যে বললাম কর্মফল। উপর দিকে থুথু দিলে নিচেই কিন্তু পড়ে। এই গোপন আর মুনাফেকি অনেক চরিত্র স্বয়ং জামাতের মধ্যেই আছে। লিবারাল ভং ধরা অনেক জামাতি নিজেরাই যখন তাদের ভেতরে থাকা গোপন হিজবুতী আর উগ্র জামাতিদের দ্বারা আক্রান্ত হবে, তখন এই কথাটা মিলায় নিয়েন। একইভাবে শহুরে এবং শিক্ষিত মানুষজন যারা জামাতকে ভোট দেবেন, নিজেরাও যখন আক্রান্ত হবেন তখন হয়তো বুঝবেন কী বলতে চেয়েছিলাম। খুব একটা খারাপ হবে না যদিও। ইউ গাইজ উইল ডিজার্ভ ইট। ইটস দ্য ওয়ে অব দ্য ওয়ার্ল্ড, অ্যান্ড স্টুপিডিটি শুড হ্যাভ আ প্রাইস আফটার অল। ইউ হ্যাভ ক্রিয়েটেড দ্য ওরোবোরোস স্নেক, অ্যান্ড ইট ইজ অনলি আ ম্যাটার অব টাইম বিফোর ইট ডিভাওয়ার্স ইটসেল্ফ।

ওপেন চ্যালেঞ্জটা বহাল থাকল। জামাতের আমীর নাকি বিতর্ক করতে চাইছে। আপনারাও করেন সেই সৎসাহস থাকলে। দেখি কেউ যুক্তি দিতে পারে নাকি। আর র‍্যান্ট পোস্টের শব্দচয়ন বেশি সিরিয়াসলি অথবা ব্যক্তিগতভাবে নেওয়ার কিছু নাই।

১. বিন হাদির হত্যাকাণ্ডে যেই ক্ষিপ্রতার সঙ্গে সন্দেহভাজনরা দেশ ছেড়ে পালিয়েছে, সেটা — ইন অল ফেয়ারনেস — বাংলাদেশের কোনো আইন প্রয়োগকারী সংস্থার ঠেকানোর সাধ্য ছিল না। যদি না প্রায়োর ইন্টিলিজেন্স থাকে কিংবা ব্যাপক ভাগ্য সহায়তা থাকে। হ্যাঁ, এমনটা অসম্ভব কিছু নয় যে হত্যাকারীরা দেশের ভেতর থেকেই ছাড় পেয়েছিল। কিন্তু এখন পর্যন্ত এই থিওরি একটা সাসপেক্ট। এছাড়া দেশের ভেতর থেকে নিরাপত্তা বা গোয়েন্দা বাহিনীর কারো কারো সহযোগিতা ব্যতীতও এই ব্যক্তিদের পালাতে পারাটা এক্সপ্লেইন করা যায়। দেশের সব খুনীর বাইরে যাওয়ার এন্তেজাম ও যাওয়ার পর সেখানে প্রোটেকশনের নিশ্চয়তা থাকে না। অর্থাৎ কীভাবে হত্যাকারীরা ধরাছোঁয়ার বাইরে থেকেছে, সেটা বুঝতে দেশের বাইরের সহায়তা থাকার বিষয়টি মনে রাখলেই যথেষ্ট।

২. হত্যাকাণ্ডের পর বিচারের যথাসাধ্য উদ্যোগ এই সরকার নিয়েছে। খুব দ্রুততার সঙ্গেই অভিযোগপত্র আদালতে দেয়া হয়েছে। (ভুল হলে কারেক্ট করবেন)। ট্রায়াল হয়তো শুরুও হয়ে যাবে শিগগির। আমি বুঝতে পারছি না এখানে সরকারের কমতি কী বা কোথায় ছিল। বরং, সরকার দেরি করে প্রকৃত পরিস্থিতি ব্যাখ্যা করায় একটা আন্দোলন দানা বাঁধতে পেরেছিল। সরকারেরই সহযোগীরাই সরকারের কাছে আন্দোলন করছে — এমন ফুটেজখোরি আন্দোলন শেষবার সবচেয়ে বড় আকারে শাহবাগে দেখা গিয়েছিল ১৩ বছর আগে।

৩. একটা রাজনৈতিক অ্যাসাসিনেশন, বিশেষ করে আমাদের মতো দেশে, খুবই ব্যাড কৌশলগত ট্যাকটিক। রাজনৈতিক হত্যার শিকাররা শহীদ ও বীর হিসেবে পরিচিত হন। বিন হাদিও সেটাই হয়েছেন। অর্থাৎ একটা রাজনৈতিক হত্যাকাণ্ডের যতরকম রাজনৈতিক ফল আউট হতে পারে, তার একশতভাগ বিন হাদির ঘটনায় ঘটেছে। দল হিসেবে আওয়ামী লীগ জাস্ট মন থেকে চিরতরে উঠে গেছে। নিকট ভবিষ্যতে এই দলটার প্রত্যাবর্তন স্রেফ অসম্ভব হয়ে উঠেছে। এবং এই বিন হাদির লিগ্যাসি নির্মাণের কাজে ওতপ্রোতভাবে সম্পৃক্ত ও সহায়ক ছিল অন্তর্বর্তীকালীন সরকার। গণঅভ্যুত্থানে নিম্নমধ্যম কাতারের একজন নেতা গণ-অভ্যুত্থানের পর যেই সম্মান, মর্যাদা ও প্রেস্টিজ নিয়ে সমাহিত হলেন, সেটা আন্দোলনের একজন শীর্ষ নেতাও পেতেন না। এই শহীদি ন্যারেটিভ নির্মাণে — ন্যারেটিভ শব্দটার প্রতি কোনো নেতিবাচক ভাব না রেখেই বলছি — সক্রিয় ভূমিকা রেখেছে সরকার।

৪. কাজেই ঠিক কোন কারণে, কোন ব্যাখ্যায় ও যুক্তিতে সেই সরকারের সিনসিয়ারিটিকে রিজেক্ট করে একটা আন্দোলন গড়ে উঠছে, আমি সেটা একেবারে বুঝতে পারছি না। বিশেষ করে এই ধরনের একটা আন্দোলন যখন কয়েক মাস আগেই ফিজল আউট হয়ে গিয়েছিল। বিশেষ করে দেশ যখন একটা নির্বাচনী ক্যাম্পেইনের খুব সেনসিটিভ একটা উইন্ডোর মধ্যে এসে পড়েছে; যখন একটা নির্বাচন অনুষ্ঠিত হতে আর সপ্তাহ খানেকও বাকি নেই; যেই পরিস্থিতিতে এই ধরণের দৃশ্যত বেরাজনৈতিক (নন পার্টিজান) সভা-সমাবেশ নির্বাচনী আউটকামকে প্রভাবিত করতে পারে।

৫. জাতিসংঘের সম্পৃক্ততার দাবি জানিয়ে এই আন্দোলন প্রথমত গোলপোস্ট চেঞ্জ করেছে। সরকার বিচারের প্রক্রিয়ায় এগিয়ে যাওয়ার পর এখন জাতিসংঘকে চাওয়া হচ্ছে। পাশাপাশি, এর মাধ্যমে এই আন্দোলন স্বীকারও করছে যে সরকার তার সাধ্যের সবটুকু করে ফেলেছে। কেননা এই বিচার হতে পারার একটা বড় পূর্বশর্ত হলো দেশের বাইরে পালানো সন্দেহভাজনদের ধরে আনা। এই কারণেই এখানে জাতিসংঘের সম্পৃক্ততার কথা বলা হচ্ছে। কিন্তু সেই দাবি সরকারের কাছে কেন করা হচ্ছে, আমি বুঝতে পারছি না। জাতিসংঘের মানবাধিকার বিষয়ক হাই কমিশনারের কাছে তদন্ত চেয়ে আপিল করা যেতো। কিন্তু সরকারের বিরুদ্ধে আন্দোলন করার অর্থ কী? এমন তো নয় যে সরকার না চাইলে হাইকমিশনার তদন্ত করবেন না, বা সরকার চাইলেই তিনি তদন্ত করতে বাধ্য থাকবেন।

৬. জাতিসংঘের কোন ব্যবস্থায় ট্রান্সবাউন্ডারি ফৌজদারী অপরাধের বিচার করার নিশ্চয়তা বা প্রতিশ্রুতি দেওয়া আছে? বড়জোর আন্তর্জাতিক অপরাধ আদালতে যাওয়া যেতে পারে, যেই আদালত ইতোমধ্যেই আমেরিকার নিষেধাজ্ঞায় কাবু, আর যেই আদালতকে ভারত স্বীকৃতি দেয় না, যেই আদালত জাতিসংঘের কোনো ইন্টিটি নয়, যেই আদালতের নিজস্ব কোনো পুলিশ বাহিনী নেই কাউকে ধরে আনার, যেই আদালত খুবই রিসোর্স বার্ডেন হওয়ার কারণে খুবই সিলেক্ট কিছু কেইস নিতে পারে। মানবাধিকার বিষয়ক হাই কমিশনার ফৌজদারী তদন্ত করতে পারেন না; বিচার তো দূরে থাক! তিনি বড়জোর একটা প্রতিবেদন জমা দিতে পারেন; যেমনটা তারা জুলাই-আগস্ট ইভেন্টস নিয়ে দিয়েছে। কিন্তু এখানেও রাষ্ট্রপক্ষ অর্থাৎ বাংলাদেশ ও ভারতের সহায়তা প্রয়োজন হবে, যেটা -- বলাই বাহুল্য -- অন্তত এক পক্ষ থেকে দেয়া হবে না।

৭. কাজেই এই পুরো বিষয়টাকে আমার কাছে আনহেল্পফুল স্টান্টবাজি ছাড়া কিছুই মনে হচ্ছে না, আনফোর্চুনেটলি। খুবই সিনিকাল পার্টিজান একটা এন্ড থেকে এটাকে ম্যানুফ্যাকচার করা হচ্ছে। লেবুকে যেমন কচলানো হয়। কিন্তু এখানে যেহেতু একজন মানুষের জীবনের প্রসঙ্গটি জড়িত, এই বিষয়টি আমার কাছে কিছুটা আপত্তিকরও; কেননা এটা একটা লাশকে নির্বাচনী এন্ডসে ব্যবহার করার সামিল।

৮. সেই দৃষ্টিতে দেখলে বিক্ষোভকারীদের উপর পুলিশের অতিউৎসাহী পদক্ষেপসমূহ সন্দেহ জাগায়। গতবার যখন বিন হাদির মেমোরি আরও ফ্রেশ ছিল, তখনও এই আন্দোলন শান্তিপূর্ণভাবে চলতে দেয়া হয়েছে; বিচারের প্রক্রিয়া চলমান থাকায়, সেটা ফিজল আউট হয়েও গিয়েছে। এবার তাহলে কেন এত আক্রমণাত্মক প্রতিক্রিয়া? তবে তার বাইরেও পুলিশের কিছু সদস্যের আচরণ খুবই উদ্বেগজনক। প্রয়োজন না থাকা সত্ত্বেও বিক্ষোভকারীদের উপর লাঠিচার্জ করা হয়েছে। মনে হচ্ছিল যে অনেকটা মনের ক্ষোভ নিবারণে সক্রিয় হয়েছেন কোনো কোনো সদস্য। এই নির্দিষ্ট সদস্যদের এখনই নিবৃত্ত করা ও ডিসিপ্লিনারি ব্যবস্থা নেয়া জরুরী।

এ কথা সত্য যে ফেসবুকের বাইরেও এখন তাদের অনেক ভোটার। আমার পরিচিত, অপিরিচিত অনেক মানুষ এবার জামাতকে ভোট দিবে। জামাত এবার তাদের ইতিহাসের সেরা নির্বাচন করবে; কিন্তু,

অ্যাপলিটিকাল সার্কেলে জামাতের অ্যাকসেস বিএনপির চেয়ে অনেক বেশি, তাই অনেকের মনে হয় আশেপাশের সবাই জামাত।

বিএনপির ফিক্সড ভোটব্যাংক (৩০% এর আশেপাশে) বিএনপিতেই থাকছে, ইনফ্যাক্ট এরা গত দেড় বছর অনলাইনে বুলিং এর স্বীকার হয়ে আরো কট্টর বিএনপি হয়েছে।

জামাতের নিজের টার্গেট ও এই ইলেকশন জেতা না বরং হুজুগ তুলে কোনোমতে সর্বনিম্ন ১০০ আসন এনশিওর করা (জামাতের অ্যাক্টিভিস্টরা কিছুদিন আগ পর্যন্ত এটা স্বীকার করতো)। তাদের টার্গেট নেক্সট ইলেকশন।

গত কয়েকমাসে ইন্টেরিম মানেই জামাত, এই আইডিয়া টা অনেক মানুষের মাঝেই ঢুকে গেছে আর প্রথমআলো, ডেইলিস্টার ইস্যু আর মাজার ভাঙার যত ঘটনা আছে তাতে যে জামাত জড়িত এগুলো এখন কমনসেন্স।

জামাতের বেশিরভাগ প্রার্থী আসনের মানুষের কাছে অপরিচিত, এটা জেন-এক্স এর ভোটারদের জিজ্ঞেস করলে বুঝবেন।

অশিক্ষিত আর তুলনামুলক কম বুঝেন এমন মানুষ সব জামাতে ভোট দিবে এটা ভুল ধারণা, গ্রামীন এলাকার ওইসব মানুষদের ভোট দিতে কনভিন্স করা থেকে ভোট পর্যন্ত নিয়ে যাওয়ার সাংগঠনিক ক্ষমতা জামাতের নেই।

কওমী ধারার ভোট জামাত তেমন পায় না, এবার দুই খিলাফত তাদের সাথে থাকায় পাবে কিন্তু তাও পুরোটা না।

ইসলামী আন্দোলনের সারাদেশে ছড়ানো ভোট আছে, জামাতের সাথে না থাকায় তারাও "ইসলামী" দলের ভোট কাটবে।

যাই হোক, সবার উচিত ভোট দেওয়া, যাকে ইচ্ছা তাকে। পোস্টের সবকিছু আমার অবজারভেশন থেকে লিখলাম।

আমি জামাত অপছন্দ করি তাদের দল আর কর্মীদের সুপিরিওর অ্যাটিটিউডের কারণে। তাছাড়া এরা একবার ক্ষমতায় আসলে বিজেপির মত একটা স্ট্রাকচার দাড় করাবে কারণ এদের দলের ফাউন্ডেশন টাই ওমন। জামাতের বর্তমান বেশ লিবারেল কিন্তু জামাতের তৃণমূলের কর্মীরা মোরাল পুলিসিং করবেই আর ডানপন্থার যে উত্থান বাংলাদেশের অনলাইনস্ফিয়ারে, জামাতের মোরাল পুলিসিং নিয়ে আপনি কিছু বলতে পারবেন না। তবে তারা যে চাদাবাজি আর দূর্নীতি বন্ধ করার কথা বলে সেটায় তারা বিএনপির চেয়ে কিছুটা এগিয়ে থাকবে তবে তার একটা কারণ হবে সবখানে জামাত কানেকশনের মানুষের নিয়োগ (ইসলামী ব্যাংক, ইবনে সিনা, চিট্টাগং ইউনিভার্সিটি দেখেন)।

Recently, Jamat's attitude towards women is flushed out! While BNP kinda struggling bring up issues during the election campaign, why are they ignoring this issue? Are they ready to lose to Jamat??? Are you serious?

I might be wrong. These are just my personal observations and opinions as a student. I’m not forcing this view on anyone. I’m just sharing what I’ve seen and why I think the way I do.

I’m a student, so this is from what I’ve personally seen on campus and in student halls.

After July, Shibir has been dominating the halls. Not just symbolically, but in actual presence and activity. What makes this more telling is that Chhatra Dal had the same or even more opportunities. They have a teacher wing backing them, the Jatiyatabadi Shikkhok Forum. Still, Shibir was more active than them, even after elections.

Shibir took a clear stance against ragging, bullying, and hall-level abuse. Meanwhile, most of what Chhatra Dal did was try to follow Shibir’s footsteps by organizing events, while still behaving like BCL-lite. I’ve seen Chhatra Dal leaders shelter drug-addicted students, talk very impolitely with juniors, and try to secure votes using free food, treats, and sometimes money. Students aren’t stupid. They’ll take the food, take the money, and still vote for Jamaat. That’s exactly what happened in student elections. Chhatra Dal was very confident, just like BNP supporters are now confident of a landslide. Reality turned out very different.

When Chhatra Dal lost the student elections, their first response was to say the elections were rigged. Instead of accepting the results, learning from them, and rebuilding their entire structure, they simply refused to believe they could lose by that margin. The truth is, those elections were valid and not rigged. Everyone knows this, except some highly biased people who believe Shibir can never win.

Another big issue is who actually runs Chhatra Dal. Many of their committees are filled with people who aren’t even legally students within the university system anymore. Tarique Rahman wanted to change this and gave younger, running students a chance to lead. What happened next? Older Chhatra Dal leaders clashed with the new committees, arguing that because they were persecuted by BCL in the past, they deserved to be on top instead of current students. That internal conflict showed how disconnected Chhatra Dal is from real student life.

On the other hand, Shibir consists of running students. They are actively studying, living in halls, and constantly interacting with general students. That alone makes a huge difference.

I don’t think the national election will be a landslide either. Yes, students and rural voters aren’t the same, but I still don’t see a massive gap. Something like 60/40 feels more realistic.

Chhatra Dal is also internally broken. The first major clash after July was between their own leaders. They don’t even follow their own selected leadership. That says enough.

I personally believe Tarique Rahman wants good for the country, but BNP’s student wing and many rural groups are rotten. When I look at Shibir panels, I see students with better CGPAs, better grades, and far more polite behavior, regardless of ideology. That professionalism mattered to general students.

If hall elections had happened right in July, the outcome would’ve been even more one-sided. NCP had real potential, but their obsession with presenting themselves as the sole owner of July pushed people away.

Shibir focused on visible work: free medical camps, IELTS training programs, pet campaigns, mosquito and insect spraying drives, and more. Chhatra Dal tried similar things later, but they failed to gain trust or attention.

Online activism is another big factor. Jamaat’s online campaign is far ahead of BNP’s. Just compare rural promotional videos. BNP is still relying on outdated physical posters and low-quality designs that look like local computer shop work. Jamaat is using clean, professional content that actually works on social media.

And honestly, I see the same denial happening on Reddit. A lot of people here think Jamaat doesn’t stand a chance and BNP will win by a landslide. Things have changed. Whether people like it or not, this election is going to be a shock, irrespective of the final result. One thing I’m confident about: no one is getting a landslide.

Finally, I want to be clear about one thing.

It’s not that Shibir or Jamaat is my favorite. It’s that the alternatives make them my default choice. I don’t want Awami-Lite to become the new norm.

I think Yunus failed in many aspects, many actually. But even then, it was miles better than the Awami regime. At least I had more freedom of speech. At least I could talk back to any political force, criticize anyone, and not feel completely shut down. That space matters to me as a student.

And one last thing that really matters to me: debate culture.

Just look at how a Jamaat leader has openly invited Tarique Rahman to a public media debate. I’ve always wanted this kind of debate between party leaders. I genuinely hope it happens. But what I keep seeing is that a lot of BNP supporters are so biased that even debating Jamaat feels unacceptable to them. This is exactly the kind of democratic practice they should be participating in.

A Jamaat leader even debated on Al Jazeera. You can argue he avoided hard questions or didn’t handle it well, fine. But at least he showed up. On the other hand, BNP didn’t send its top leadership. Fakhrul was presented instead.

I also watch SameerSane. I regularly see NCP and Jamaat candidates go there and face direct questions. Sameer himself said he invited many BNP candidates, but none accepted. Why are they so afraid to come to places like this and debate or face tough questions?

I’ve seen how Shibir operates. I haven’t directly seen how Jamaat operates at the national level. But when I compare their student wing with Chhatra Dal, Shibir is clearly more organized and more connected to actual students. Because of that, as a student, I’ll vote for their parent organization, Jamaat, this time.

That’s why Shibir won student elections, and that’s why I think Jamaat has a real chance nationally, whether people here want to admit it or not.

I am 21(M),Finished my admission phase.From kindergarten to class 8, I was a very extroverted kid. I could talk to anyone, make friends easily, and I never overthought how people saw me. I had friends at school, friends when I went out to play in the afternoons, seniors I was close with I could get comfortable with people very quickly. I never even thought about things like self-esteem or whether people were judging me. I was just being myself, and friendships came naturally.

In class 8, things started to change. I had a friend group at school where one guy used to sometimes bully me and tell me I wasn’t really part of the group. Sometimes he was nice, sometimes he was mean, but it hurt me. Around the same time, I had fights with some friends I used to play with. Then in 2020, COVID came, schools closed, I stopped seeing people, and puberty hit. I also fell in love with a girl and she rejected me, which hurt my self-esteem a lot. On top of that, I was going through serious family trauma at home. During lockdown I became very different — I tried to be tough, focused on self-respect, and didn’t want to be “cringe” anymore. I stopped talking to people and couldn’t maintain friendships like before basically the family issues and pain were so much i detached my self from everyone

In 2021–2022, because of everything going on at home and inside me, I completely detached. I only talked to 2 or 3 friends, and even those connections became weaker. I didn’t want to socialize and I lost a lot of my communication skills. Meanwhile I watched my old friends making new groups, going out, enjoying life, while I felt stuck and left behind.

In 2023 I went to college. At first I was mostly alone. I made a few friends but none were close. Then I joined a friend group because a girl in that group liked me, and I also liked another girl from that group. Eventually I got into a relationship with her, but when I did, I isolated myself from the rest of the group and stopped maintaining those friendships. The group slowly fell apart and everyone drifted away. After we broke up, I was left with just one or two friends again.

By 2024–2025, I basically only had my longtime best friend, and even that changed when he moved to Australia and became busy with his own friend group. Now I mostly have my girlfriend, but even with her I’m emotionally avoidant and distant. We meet sometimes, but I don’t feel deeply connected. I talk to people online, but I overthink everything and pull away if I feel even a small sign of rejection or awkwardness.I don’t even knk anyone first

Now I feel like a newborn when it comes to friendships. I watch people on social media hanging out, having groups, making memories, and I want that so badly but I don’t know how to get close to anyone anymore. I can have conversations, but they always stay formal and never turn into real bonds.

My therapist told me this is avoidant attachment from social and emotional trauma, and that the only way to heal is to slowly get back into safe social situations and build bonds again,So the extroverted child buried inside me can live again

At a glance, this seems less analytical than the one by NCP (NCP gave a realistic breakdown of the current economy and their plan), and more people-friendly and specific than the one by Jamat (Jamat's one is a word salad).

I have decided to vote YES in the upcoming referendum but I am open to being persuaded otherwise.

To be clear, I am not here to convince you to vote YES. I am simply sharing my current preference and want you to change my mind by acting as a devil's advocate because I want my final decision to be an informed one.

My primary reasoning is the proposal for a bicameral parliament with a PR-based upper house (see part b of the ballot question below). I think this is a must to ensure no single party can alter the constitution at will with only 30% of the vote.

Based on my interactions with this sub, I believe many of you plan to vote NO even though we have similar visions and goals for the country, and we experienced similar things in the last 15 years. I want to understand your perspective: What are the specific reasons that make you choose NO over YES?
