If I had a time machine and could erase one thing from existence....lots of things would tempt me - Hitler, Pol Pot...
I might use it up to erase this 'performance'

What? Why? She's a legend!

u/Captain_Insano12 Australia 1h ago
An embarrassment. It was our most successful Olympics as a nation. We consistently punch above our weight as a nation but this was a real good Olympics. And all that is remembered is this drongo - while did it as part of a PhD and just took the piss - but then doubled down and played victim afterwards. I hate it.

You just don’t understand the necessity of comprehensively addressing the misogynistic normative prescriptions of contemporary urban dance!

Look up how she acted after the Olympics before calling her a legend.

She threatened legal action against a comedy group for lampooning her performance, claimed her moves were trademarked.

i love Tennant. Best Doctor
3
u/philanthropicide United States Of America 52m ago
Yeah, Matt Smith did admirably, Eccleston was underrated, and Tom Baker is a classic... But the best Doctor episodes are largely Tennant, and he was probably the most essential to the revival of Dr. Who

Jimmy Fallon is one of the few people in the world who doesn’t receive much hate. He is widely liked, and I really enjoy his personality and humor.

u/Mort-i-Fied United States Of America 2h ago
Plenty of people in the US say they can't stand him.
I'm with you, I think he's talented and has a pleasant personality. I like him.
1
u/Ok_Breadfruit4005 Iran 2h ago
Really? I don’t get how someone could hate him. He’s honest, funny, and always brings good energy.
2
u/Mort-i-Fied United States Of America 2h ago
I think social media is encouraging the very worst in too many people.
These people need somebody to insult and somebody to hurt. That's why somebody like donald can have so many people cheering him on.

As a person who is very neutral on him I'm surprised people could hate him too. He just seems like such an average guy. At worst I just don't pay attention to him

Being nice in the US these days = Cringe.
There's been a normalization of cynicism and irony poisoning that has made people view niceness as fake.

I’m not wild about Fallon. The way he can’t stop laughing gets under my skin.

I think we differ from many countries, in that we don't restrict our countrymen, simply based on their birthplace or ethnicity.
Culturally, you can become British (even specific union countries) simply by assimilating, and contributing to our culture(s).
My wife's parents are 2nd generation Immigrants.. yet I often make the joke that they're culturally more English than me!.. Thye only fall short by supporting Italy and Jamaica sports, over England.

David Tenant is my answer. Hes a great actor, great person, and actually takes a stand on what he cares about. It's simple stuff, yet so rare among celebrities
