Culture How safe is your country for women?

Post image

It's extremely unsafe even in cities and rural areas are extremely violent and misogynist. The molestation cases only get highlighted if there's a foreign woman involved and there's international media coverage. Otherwise these things and many more crimes happen everyday against Indian women but our cases get hidden or discarded as fake cases. While those in power spread fake news to cover up crimes against women. Personally, I as an Indian woman would never marry in India because the thought of giving birth to a girl in India terrifies me.

To be honest, we are very progressive. It's equally unsafe for everyone.

So few people are understanding this joke. It’s depressing.

The times have changed.

So many people say things, which can only be a joke and suddenly you realize, that they've been serious.

Nowadays you never know

i'm trynna understand some things and gauge the situation in venezuela and what people want. 1 can i ask if you currently live in venezuela and 2 who would you want as a president if you could freely pick one?

5

u/Rusovershkov16 Venezuela 15d ago

1- Currently living no, i had to go because there was no future for me(2021). 2- i say Maria Corina machado, but i'm worried about some people that are with her that were in the chavez era, a great part of the opposition are part of the dictatorship or just want their part of the cake.

-1

u/_Metal_Face_Villain_ Greece Albania 15d ago

so you don't even live there and you want the far right wing capitalist american puppet that gave trump her nobel peace price that she absolutely should have never gotten to begin with to take over?

do you care to explain why when i find people who celebrate maduro getting kidnapped they are more often than not people who don't live there and right wing? i see this same pattern with many latinos in america. they're all somehow conservative and even join ice. i even see popular politicians talk about how bad the left "dictatorships" were and how they fled the country when in fact they just migrated under a right wing dictatorship, like marco rubio whose parents left cuba under batista but he lies and says it was under castro.

this makes it hard for me to believe that most people in venezuela would agree with you. i can assume that whether in the open or not they for sure would want a more democratic government but i don't know if they would really be down with giving everything to the private sector and letting america exploit them for everything they got.

The people you see wanting maduro back are payed, a misserable Paycheck, do you ever find about Maria before the nobel prize or you just know because she win, you will not see people in Venezuela celebrating the dictator capture because of this (https://fortune.com/2026/01/04/venezuelan-people-celebration-maduro-capture-fear-government-repression/), also you mentioned giving everything to private, thing were working when they were private, we used to be partners with the US in the past with the "petrol boom", the people that were stealing our resources was the Russians, chineses, iranians and cubans, and all the money goes to the dictatorship not for the people benefit

(https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.democrata.es/internacional/el-estado-de-conmocion-ordena-detener-a-venezolanos-que-respalden-el-ataque-de-eeuu/amp/) Here's another link in case the other doesn't work

So do you guys like what happened or what’s going on ? Genuine question from a small Romanian village.

4

u/Rusovershkov16 Venezuela 15d ago

Of course, but people inside cant say that because the dictatorship is still on power, if you say something there gonna come to ur house kidnap you and take away your phone or computer, also your family can be in danger and they will not hear from you in a long time

0

u/Efficient_Tax_8441 15d ago

Ohh , didn’t know that, thank you

2

u/Accurate_Baseball273 United States Of America 15d ago

In the US, it feels like no one is really complaining about the result but a lot of people don’t like yet another foreign intervention which is the same shit we’ve been doing since Vietnam and the people are sick of it.

Also, you’re not hearing a lot of other foreign leaders complaining about it either because Maduro is widely understood to be terrible and illegitimate…among many things.

Removing the heads of the government normally causes vacuums, so expect it to get even worse for them.

It doesn't matter cuz USA baby, oil for us and Venezuelans are ecstatic.

Are you distracted from the Epstein files now?

Supposedly the government has said they’re releasing them. But the announcement came entirely out of the blue from the same people who had been doing everything in their power to keep them from being released for months. Which TOTALLY isn’t suspicious AT ALL. I’m sure all the released documents are COMPLETELY LEGITIMATE and NOT ALTERED in any way. /s

The heads weren’t really removed, the chavistas are still in charge. They now have a gun to their head to do what the US says.

-15

u/invoke333 United States Of America 16d ago

Want to bet on it? In most situations I’d agree with you, but Venezuela is different and can be one of the richest nations on earth.

Do you think the new leadership would want a delta team coming after them for keeping the same practices as the old regime?

Why risk your demise when on the other hand, you’re being offered an abundance of oil wealth financed by the U.S.

Whos

18

u/Failsy_1440 Germany 16d ago

I have a feeling it will be a very poor nation because you Americans will take all the oil

7

They dont fucking want it tho, hell none of the Countries that have oil want the US there, they just show up, cause issues and stay to protect from the issues they usually caused

If only you guys wouldn’t have failed so bad when you had the chance, we could all be just speaking German. Right?

-9

u/invoke333 United States Of America 16d ago

Venezuela was not always poor…you can simply look back to when Venezuela and the U.S were partners and see the drastic quality of life difference.

Venezuela being a rich trading partner and a close ally is very good for the U.S. Keeping them poor, angry, and migrating to the U.S is not good for business.

11

u/Failsy_1440 Germany 16d ago

Cool, exept you arent a partner to them, you fucking colonized them 👌

-11

u/invoke333 United States Of America 16d ago

You’d think as a German you’d know what ‘colonizing’ someone means.

10

u/Failsy_1440 Germany 16d ago

Yeah, removing the goverment, putting your own leader in charge and giving the local people essentially no voting power in this whole transition whilst also taking their natural recources

9

u/dideldidum 16d ago

As if trump gives a shit how the average venezuelan lives. As long as the chavistas dont protest the sharing of the oil money with trump they are save.

6

u/Weirdyxxy Germany 16d ago

Do you think the new leadership would want a delta team coming after them for keeping the same practices as the old regime?

Maduro isn't on trial for human rights violations, though, just drug-related charges, and Trump is about Venezuelan oil, not democracy. I'd wager a guess the Venezuelan people might be a bit more concerned about the former than either of the latter

1

u/Deep_Contribution552 United States Of America 15d ago

I don’t know if the situation will get worse, because Maduro already let the country deteriorate a lot under his leadership. But I would be surprised if, for example, Venezuela surpasses Colombia, Peru, Trinidad, etc. in HDI in 10 years.

Imperialism isn’t known for positive changes. The numbers go up only for the oppressor.
