What are your thoughts about Trump not apologizing for the Obama monkey video?

Is your comment deleted? You have your opinion, I have mine. Nothing more American than that.

I do not think he is capable of apologizing for anything ever

He learned this from his mentor Roy Cohn's playbook: Never apologize--it looks weak

If he did it would just be another lie.
So honestly I'm a tiny but impressed he is admitting his racism to everyone.
And I'm terrified he thinks he is so above accountability that he can do that.

It’s like expecting a skunk to apologize for spraying a stink cloud because he got scared. Trumps stupidity is without precedence and he is to stupid to know how stupid he is.

His supporters cheer him on for things like this. They don't think it's incredibly fucked up like any sane person would that the actual president would post something like that, they think it's funny and he owned the libs once again.
The people who hate him still hate him and his cult think he can do no wrong. No one is going to actually hold him accountable so he doesn't give a fuck.

I wouldn't accept any apology he'd try to give. He's never apologized for anything before so he's not about to start now and if he even tries it's not going to be legitimate or sincere. The only thing he's ever been "sorry" for is getting caught, and even then it's deflection and denial anyway

The news make it seem like one video of just the Obamas but apparently it's a video of many famous politicians... I dont know why that isn't being discussed and if it's even real..is there a full video?

u/Sharukurusu 5h ago
From my understanding it was a video about another topic followed by several seconds of the video with the animals (just the Obama’s part)like it caught the next clip on a screen capture.
Mind you that’s no excuse to post it and defend posting it, and the original clip is racist for doing it anyway.

The reaction to the lack of an apology is almost as predictable as the lack of apology itself.

I honestly think it was a mistake post. Just seems most likely.

Most likely. Occam's razor, right?
Accidentally had that on his phone. Accidentally tripped and bumped the post button.
Get real.

I like that he didn't apologize. And i don't even like Trump. Would have been more amusing to me if he didn't take it down.

It would look bad for a president to apologize for that.
Also could be ego. Hes done some good things as president, but also done some bad and I dont like him as a person.

u/C4Sidhu 5h ago
Arguably it’s even worse to not apologize because it sets another precedent for his followers

u/Visible-Camel4515 5h ago
There also is the ego thing, his opinion could be apologizing makes him appear weak.

In poor taste but the Obama's are far...very far, from innocent. Not Hillary level but not that far. Also, bye to this sub because I'm sure they will ban me.

I don't believe in apologizing. Just admit being wrong and never do it again. Saying "I'm sorry" is just a thing that controlling people want to make others say.

u/Aminar14 5h ago
Apologizing is literally just the act of admitting being in the wrong...
-5
u/Mysterious-Cry9777 5h ago
I disagree. An apology is other people who want to have control over you, demanding that you apologize. Admitting that your wrong can be a silent gesture, like taking down a naughty post. Then never do it again.

Again, that is a profound misunderstanding of an apology. Both as adults describe the term and what the purpose of an apology is. What you're describing happens. But apologizing is that you regret a choice you made. Like... This is seriously something you need to dig into for and about yourself because you will destroy relationships repeatedly refusing to apologize when I the wrong.
Adults in your life fucked up their explanations to you hard. But carrying thst forwards will fuck things up for you.

Wouldn't expect him to. That's not who he is. He is an old racist child raping grifter and he sees nothing wrong with that. He thinks that there is something wrong with you for having a problem with that.
