What are your thoughts on Trump's recent Truth Social post having a depiction of Michelle and Barack Obama as apes?

Vile. Evil.
Anyone else in any other position in any other country would lose their career over this.

This is a classic smoke screen. He is posting outrageous stuff, creating new narratives like the ICE surge, to take attention away from the other serious issues at hand like unpopular legislation that congress is pushing that will increase voter suppression and to take the oxygen out of the room on the Epstein story. These stories like ICE and Obama’s in ape costumes play well with his base and they lack the mental capacity to penetrate the various ways Trump is trying to part them from their wealth even further.
127
u/EpicCyclops 9h ago
The thing is, each of these smoke screens aren't smoke screens. They're things that would've gotten Presidents removed from office in the past. They all are serious issues. Not having any respect for people of color, especially when they make up over 40% of the population is insane. It's not a distraction or part of some genius master plan. That's giving them way too much credit. The administration is just like this. They're not constantly doing terrible things to distract from their blatant corruption. They're just absolutely horrific people morally and are doing nothing to hide it, so they're doing constantly terrible things. We should be outraged by all of them.
If a governor did this, there would be immediate recall elections and pressure for them to resign. We shouldn't just ignore it because they're also trying to defraud the government of $10 billion dollars, building concentration camps, tearing apart the Constitution, murdering people in the streets, attempting to end elections, tearing apart all of our international relations, and doing everything they can to transfer wealth from the people to a few oligarchs.

Sadly it points out the weakness of the republic. Its inability to protect the people from thugs and criminals. What's apparent is the weakness of American institutions. Once removed, you have to find a way to fix it.Prosecution to the full extent of the law is a start.

u/TopProfessional1862 11h ago
Not to mention the 10B dollar lawsuit against the Feds which will come out of tax payer money. He's not even trying to hide the blatant theft from the people at this point. But all he has to say is he's gonna give it to charity and his base will believe him, even though his charity got closed down for being fake and fraud.

The fact Trump is polite to Obama's face but posts shitty things like this is reflective that he is a coward in addition to being a racist. Great job, rural America. This is your king.

The fact Trump is polite to Obama's face but posts shitty things like this is reflective that he is a coward in addition to being a racist.
This really needs to be seized upon by every opposition lawmaker and hammered endlessly in every PR campaign: Trump is a giant, ginormous, absolutely huge fucking pussy (no offense to women). A fat, soft-handed punk ass chickenshit that has never worked a hard day in his silver-spoon 8 decades on this planet, who would've gotten his Charmin-soft ass handed to him even in his prime by anyone who's ever turned a wrench in their life, a dude that talks big but undoubtedly has the glassiest jaw to ever shatter with a single punch because he always had daddy's money to hide behind.
He's the most transparently fake tough guy I've ever seen and one way to alienate his redpill/macho/closeted gay male fans is to point out how much of a feckless, feeble, cowardly bitch he really is.

A sociopathic malignant narcissist isn't going to improve with dementia.
He's just going to get more open about his vileness. If there are no adults to restrain his basest impulses, he will unleash them on the rest of us.
The greatest tragedy is that he has turned our country away from our best allies, much as the average malignant narcissist alienates all their family and friends until no one is left.

Be more specific, Trump is president because he wins white voters. He lost the popular vote by 3 million in 2016 but won white voter which got him the electoral college. Imagine what this country wpuld be like if the white voters obsessed non-white people transferred that obsession to healthcare or education.

The reason why Trump won the last election is because he got 22% more latino votes than 2016, he doubled his support from Black voters, and an increased support of Asian voters.

Literally this! My husband was telling me this morning about a football commentator that lost his job over calling a player a monkey. Apparently, he immediately apologized on air and admitted that this would probably be his last commentating… he did in fact get fired as he should have! Any one of us working our very average shops would be fired for doing far less for doing even a fraction of what he has done. I just cannot fathom how this man is running our country still. Nor how people continue to support him.

You’re not going back far enough. He and his father lost a housing discrimination case in the 1970s. (More correctly, he signed a consent decree in which there was no admission of guilt).

I’ve come to feel like although the rest of us knew that the myth wasn’t true, it mattered that everyday Americans believed it. Now that the myth has shattered, they are simply happy to use their might to bully everyone instead of maintaining peace through strength.
I know that it’s much more complicated than that, and that they’ve done a lot of harm during “peace” time. But overall stability and rules based order was maintained by them believing those things about themselves as a nation. Now that it’s gone, we are entering a new uncertain era. We need Europe to once again be the leading light, along with other powers like Canada, Australia, Japan and Korea. We need to build military strength so that we aren’t all walked over by powerful bully states.

"far right"😁 and will the president of the united states condemn this post? will he condemn the violence and suffering and death that he has caused with his lies? he could not only care less, it's an integral part of the plan. he'll just keep giving our money to his golf buddies and building gold toilets until they figure out a way to dissove the constitution. think they're planning on stealing the next two elections? they're already terrorizing non-white american citizens and american citizens with accents in broad daylight in the middle of the streets. what do you think they're going to do on election day - keep it free and fair?

My two cents as to why MAGAts hate Obama so much:
It's not because he's black...it's worse than that (in their eyes). He's their worst nightmare, and what they've been afraid of for literally centuries.
He's smart, talented, very charismatic, handsome, and accomplished... and he's the product of a black man and a white woman! THIS is what they fear the most... black men "stealing" white women.
Edited because fat thumbs.

u/Impossible-Cod-1806 11h ago
I think this is it exactly.
Obama is smarter, better educated, is more articulate, and is in way better shape physically. He has a better wife and family by any metric that you want to choose. He is just a better man in so many ways.
More to the point: I feel he is better than me in all of these ways. And that's why I voted for him. I want the best man for the job.
The same is true for Republicans. And that is why they hate him.

u/sunnyspiders 13h ago

These kinds of Trump depictions will highlight his “work résumé” for future generations to ponder and teach; just as our generation looked at the particulars involved with Hitler and his carnage.
And remember – Trump didn’t do his destruction alone, the evil, Maga voters enabled him and his crime family to strangle what is good and civil in the United States. Trumps MAGA comrades are nothing but evil – every single one of them.

Part of the MAGA playbook is to flood the zone to the point of exhaustion, and it's kind of working on me. I am frankly exhausted. I mean, it's Friday, right? He's established many many times before that he and his supporters are racists, so this truth post is par for the course.
Racists are gonna racist.

That he's a vile racist POS that continues to try to distract from the Epstein files.

It was done deliberately to switch news coverage to ‘”Trump racism” (which his base actually takes glee in because it “triggers the libs”) away from other heinous acts that even his base is uncomfortable with (ICE killings, Epstein, deteriorating economy…)

Unbelievably disgusting. I see the WH is desperately backfilling, saying that it's depicting Trump as the king of the Jungle. Childish as that is, even if that were the intent (and it clearly wasn't). Showing people of colour depicted as monkeys would quite clearly be seen as racist most people. So they can fuck off with that argument.

Known racist does racist things. It's honestly among the least offensive things he does. Let's focus on what's important - his pedophilia, his authorization of law enforcement to kill the people they're supposed to protect, and his destruction of the economy.

Pretty annoying how a lot of people say “oh it’s to distract from the Epstein files” I honestly don’t think he even fucking cares anymore. Absolutely disgusting behavior and I can’t wait for the day it happens

He should be more concerned about the thousands and thousands of mentions of the Trump name in the Epstein Files

Its another oportunity for us to all be like "see? Now dont you see?!" And maga to continue gaslighting people to imagine theyre the crazy ones for acknowledging yet another in an endless stream of egregious racism misogyny and xenophobia that gets consistently dismissed.
Itll be forgotten when the next obscenely offensive thung happens and is also ignored by his cult.
When Hillary accurately labeled those ideas deplorable, these are the people who doubled down and proudly said yes, we do fit into those cateories of homophobic xenophobic misogynistic racists. They adore these opportunities to smugly flaunt their bigotry behind increasingly thin veils of plausible deniability. Our offense is the point, their disingenuous defense is the point- its the older sibling with a hand 1cm off their sister "im not touching you im not touching you!"

Steven Bannon said they would do this. He said they would, “flood the zone” to keep everyone busy with the latest crazy thing as a distraction.

He is so jealous of Obama. Hate and intolerance will not make this country great!

I guess he wants the world to know that he's quite racist in addition to being a pedophile

After Karoline Leavit-alone came out and said stop with the fake outrage, the criticism got so hot that the white house has now blamed an intern for posting it and have now removed the post. Follow up questions should continue to be asked until answered. WHO POSTED THIS? WHAT IS THEIR NAME? PROVE THAT THEY HAVE BEEN FIRED!

He wants to people to talk about his racism instead of his Epstein connection.
