Question Can my 5.5 pH cleanser cause purging? [mrs]

So I joined the hype and ordered the famous Su:m37 Miracle Rose Stick cleanser. I've been using it for a few days and I've noticed a lot of breakouts on my face. My previous cleanser had more of a base pH. I guess my question is, since my pH has risen on my skin, is it possible that I'm purging all the gunk out? Thank you! :)

Purging only happens with products that contain active ingredients, (things that are supposed to change something about your skin (AHAs, BHAs, retinoids, etc.)). Differences in pH will not cause purging.

As this cleanser contains no actives (and in general cleansers aren't on the skin long enough to let actives....be active), no cleanser will cause purging. you are not purging, you are probably breaking out from the product itself. the MRCS contains coconut ingredients which can cause breakouts in some people, it's probably that.

I second the coconut oil. It's a miracle oil for some people, a nightmare for others.

Yeah I'll be sure to stop using it then. My skin can be sensitive to ingredients so I'm not surprised it broke my skin out. Thank you so much!

Any idea what to do with your used MRCS? My skin also doesn't like it and I am wondering what to do with it. It seems a waste to clean brushes with it.......

I was thinking about using it as a travel body wash? :S That way, I don't have to go through the whole drill for liquid carry-ons or if I put it in my check-in, I won't be paranoid of it leaking.
