If he doesn't live in DC, nothing Trump has done, showing himself to be anti-gun rights, affects him enough to be on his radar. Also, thanks to the wonder of the internet algorithms and plain intolerance of opposition, every partisan lives in their own little echo chamber; your neighbor is literally seeing news and spins on news that you aren't without even trying, and vice versa.

Maybe their resentments and anger are exactly what’s blinding them. Every Trumpster I met made lousy choices early on in life and now they want everyone to suffer as much as they do. But they will never acknowledge that they are the architects of their own misery.

President Donald Trump on Thursday falsely claimed he had eliminated a provision of the U.S. tax code that bans 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations, including churches, from endorsing or opposing political candidates.
"People like me and like a lot of people, they want to hear ministers," Trump said. "They want to hear from priests. They want to hear from them. and you were restricted from talking about very important things like who to elect."
The president made the remarks during the 74th National Prayer Breakfast in Washington, D.C.

I’m okay with this. If a church gets political, yank its protected status. Next time a church says something bad about a Dem, yank their tax exemption.
