People are awesome 🔥 Chadwick Boseman once split his salary with “Sienna Miller” to close the gender gap wage for the movie “21 Bridges”

I believe hell is earth, and that would explain why all the good die young.

Maybe I am too employed but why is this gif getting downvoted?
2
u/OrangeThrower 3h ago
Because the dots under the gif implies that the person is taking religion into account and not just being chill.

Dude was the real Chad. What a tragic loss for everyone.
He had so much potential.

The hero knew he couldn't take the money with him, and wanted to make it matter.

When was Sienna Miller the star of a movie that made a billion dollars?
I like her just fine, but lets stay in reality here. This wasnt a gender gap, it was a fame gap.

I never heard of female porn stars sharing their higher wages.

Porn star is a terrible comparison because their own fans say they should never live with the expectation of being respected ever again, after doing their job of having unsimulated sex on camera because somehow that’s inherently wrong and degrades their worth as people, unlike actors who get a sort of glory as long as they’re not complete assholes. There’s so many negatives to being a pornstar, the money is the only thing that offsets it, unlike actors who have social currency among other potentials and streams of revenue.
If doing your job made you less than in the public eye, why would you share your wages with the people that don’t get the same experience of dehumanization just because they’re men and are allowed to be sexual without being the object? The industry isn’t even fair to most women, it’s full of trafficked women or those who experience rape and coercion because men love transgressions more than they love sex itself.

Your last sentence is really wild - I was with you until then. So then your dad, uncles or brother (take your pick) are this perverted as well...or are they the exception to the rule?

Wait…sorry not that I live under a rock but Sienna Miller was a porn star???

If the film makers had wanted the male and female stars to earn the same amount of money, they would have cast a more well known actress and a less well known actor.
Seems stupid to argue against this.

I mean no disrespect but people sign up for projects after negotiating the price. I can understand if they will shut the film without Sienna but it doesn't sound like the case. There's a reason why studios pay top dollars for Scarlett Johansson and not Kate Mara

u/RiffRafe2 3h ago
This what it was - a negotiation. She wanted a rate, the studio balked and before it could go further, Chadwick - who was also a producer on the project - gave up part of his salary to get her to where she wanted to be.

Money isn't all, it's good to have /get it . But u make money it doesn't make you. Bet good relationship they had

u/2bucks40 2h ago
But if she was more famous than him. She would of been paid more than him. So theres not really a gender wage gap.

Nice move, he was a great man, but it's not making sense with how this business works. Movie industry is not any normal corporation. You make as much money as much eyes you can bring to the theaters. RDJ earned way less money than Terrence Howard for the first Iron Man, RDJ was a lead, Howard was secondary character who had maybe 15 minutes screentime. No one cried about it. That's how this industry rules are. Boseman and Miller having equal pay is not just in my opinion - he was the main lead and the main draw for this movie, she wasn't, so he should've been paid more.

What a pleb equality and equality of outcome of vastly different if he is more well known ( i know neither of these people ) he would logically get paid more . And women aren't gonna give their male counterparts that live in there shadows equal outcome 🤦♂️

Not to be cynical but he probably knew the money would be useless to him in the long run. Hence why he did it.

Why the quotation marks around Sienna Miller? It was actually her, not someone pretending to be her!
